The New Runestone "Variety"

In the spirit of the new "everything in the same node" for Runestones, why not just include every resource in one resource type?

It offers way too much visual variety anyway, and is way too time-consuming to keep coming up with all these 3d representations of unique nodes.

So, starting with the next update, I propose only having the graphic of Blessed Thistle in all the current resource spawn points. However, you'll have varying percentage chances of also acquiring cloth, wood, metal, enchanting runes, and all other alchemy ingredients. Think of the mystery when you access each dull green sprig!! What will I find this time? A chunk of Voidstone? A log of Ruby Ash? It's immersive, and lore-friendly too!

Probably should stick all the provisioning ingredients in there too, that way all the containers can be removed from the environment, improving everyone's framerate.

Oh, and there's a fair to middling chance, since the containers will be removed, that a lockpick will appear instead. Luck of the draw, my fellow gamers!

Win-win-WIN!

What? Just trying to help.

Cheers.

The only difference between Runestone nodes before was they either glew Blue, Yellow, or Red depending on the Rune type. Now they're all in one (sometimes, sometimes Potency is left out) so they just glow Red. Honestly I expected no glow at all lol

Enchanting was an underused crafting profession compared to the rest; it was suggested by ZoS that this may be because of the requirement to harvest three nodes of different type to create a single glyph. In contrast others - such as blacksmithing - require only the material and easily obtainable trait/style stones.

Not saying I agree with it, mind you, but that's the reasoning.

Yup. And it's a flawed reasoning, unfortunately. You would think ZOS would be competant enough based on how long ESO has been out to understand these things.

The XP required to level up Enchanting is astronomically harder to fill than any other profession. It needs to be cut down to 1/3 or even less than the current amount for people to complete it as much as other professions.

Remove runestone variety (and fun/cool factor)? A dumb idea. This was one of the few things that players never complained about. Might as well change it though, right? Smh

Why are people actually complaining about this? Running around like a fool for hours just to find one Kuta or Rekuta from spawn points that may, or may not, have the correct RNG result to generate essence, aspect, or whatever you're looking for, then to roll against RNG again in the hopes that you get one of any number of results was textbook BAD DESIGN. I don't mind grinding, or farming, I'm quite accustomed to it since all I play are MMORPGs, but developers should at least respect the investment of our time. The old system, did not. No results were guaranteed or even weighed in our favour, no matter how much time we invested; we had double RNG odds against us. That's asinine.

Now we get 2-5 runes of varying sorts per node. It makes sense for a profession that requires so many materials. It's a great change and I love it. The only people getting in a twist over this are the money-moguls who realize their overpriced kutas are about to tank in price.
