A small plea to ZOS

Dear @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JanS @ZOS_KaiSchober @ZOS_GaryA @ZOS_TristanK + whomever this may concern,

I am a proud ESO plus member and love this game very much. I want it to succeed so bad but there is one major problem. If this game is to succeed and the dedicated player base to grow, you (ZOS and ZOS Community Managers) need to be more active with the player base on these forums. When new players come and vet players have issues that generate a conversation about ideas or problems, you should be just as active in the discussion with official feedback and updates. You should be treating us like we are a customer, not mindless zombies that come and play because there happens to be an Elder Scrolls licence on this title. We should be put first and have your attention at all times. This is why we have community managers and such.

Too many times do I see threads with out any ZOS attention aside from the occasional "We have deleted threads" responses. When new players come here the perception is that ZOS doesn't care. When myself and other Veteran players try to reach out to ZOS here on the forums to no avail, it feels like ZOS doesn't care. We so badly need more developer input on topics in this forums especially for those topics that deal with broken aspects to the game (EX. Dungeon finder tool broken).

Please ZOS, be more active on these forums with your proud paying customers. If you dont, this title will slowly die off and be just another MMO that could have been so much more. Prove to me and everyone else who thinks ZOS doesn't care, that you do by being more active on these forums with real information for those who request it.

I have also tried to reach out to ZOS through the ingame contact about things such as dungeon finder tools, my party being made of 3 men but still says we're full so we can't invite anyone else, etc and got no response. Im sorry, but if customer service fails, so does the product, no matter the product.

Thanks for listening, please upvote this post if you agree or argue if you dont. Good day friends.

This one agrees with much of the sentiment in this message. When points are raised and are valid then they should be addressed by ZOS. Unfortunately this one thinks that the attention of the Community Managers and ZOS are directed to the negative threads so much that they have to moderate that they don't always have time to do so.

I completely agree. Myself and others have written and spoke about it in the past. Sadly, I feel it's a lost cause :disappointed:

We need to keep this thread up and make a stand so ZOS knows what the community wants. I love that they do ESO LIVE every other week or so and I love a lot of the things they do for us, but this is something we desperately need.

I think they do respond if you tag them. I do see a lot of them ZOS on the right side of the post threads. I think as a gamemaster, they are more to oversee than to actively participate because there are so many discussions and posts going on.

Here ya go OP... we've been beating on this thing for a LONG time. It's a bit worn but you're free to have a go at it.

I've tagged them about quest phasing and got no response.

I've played a number of MMOs and spent a lot of time on MMO forums. Don't assume that not responding means not caring. There are a slew of reasons why they might not heavily engage the forum community.

The reasons could be technical, political or resource driven... Or any combination thereof.

    Just sayin'.

They are only active with actual bugs or when someone breaks the rules.
    I agree with the OP.
Just take a look at the countless threads about the indicators and other VFX.

All im saying is that I find much better communication and feedback from indi devs than I see here and it would be wonderful for such a great company like zos and great moderators we have to engage at the levels these indi developers do such as Path of Exile team.

I agree! It would mean a great deal to us ZOS believers if they were to speak up a bit more. Plus I think if they spoke up more there'd be a lot less raunchy posts. The forums lately have been a sad place to go indeed. So yes, if ZOS were to speak up more I would love it.

I agree with this so hard!

And yeah, we have seen an uptick lately, especially from @ZOS_JessicaFolsom so kudos to her. But more engagement is really needed.
If this game is to succeed and the dedicated player base to grow, you (ZOS and ZOS Community Managers) need to be more active with the player base on these forums. When new players come and vet players have issues that generate a conversation about ideas or problems, you should be just as active in the discussion with official feedback and updates.

Or UNOFFICIAL feedback and participation. It does not have to be a Final Ruling From ZOS every time, it can just be part of the conversation with us. "As a dev, I see it this way..." would be very insightful and helpful for us.

But IMO the issue goes a lot deeper than this. Before deciding to make major changes like dropping vet levels or going to One Tamriel, how about floating the idea on the forums and getting our feedback? Yes, some people will hate it, no matter what it is. And in the end we know the decision is yours, not ours. But you will get a lot more buy-in if you at least present it to us, listen to our feedback, answer as many of our concerns as you can, consider our suggestions, and encourage us to PTS it when you are ready for that. THAT is how you build loyalty. THAT is how you change the #1 comment on these forums from, "ZOS does not care and never listens to us," into, "ZOS has the best customer support hands down, and I love this game".

Yes, this would require the commitment of resources. It would take time from developers and designers, not just forum admins. But wouldn't you like to get closer to the 18million users that Skyrim boasts instead of the 7million ESO theoretically has? Wouldn't you like to have more people willing to subscribe because they are not afraid you will suddenly make an arbitrary decision that will ruin the game for them? Wouldn't it be better to have a community that is generally forgiving and understanding when you have an unexpected issue, rather than seeing it as incompetence or neglect because they don't have the feedback to know otherwise?
