Discounted Crowns?

I'm hearing reports from my PlayStation 4 guild that crowns were on sale for a few hours earlier today, just after news about the delay to Dark Brotherhood.

Can anyone from ZOS confirm this please?
(and if it's true, explain why it was for such a short period of time)

The only thing on sale were the XP scrolls. No way would ZOS or any other company put a sale on their in-game currency the day before a DLC drops.

When they offered the Crown sale for the Thieves Guild launch, they sent out emails. I didn't see any emails about discounted Crowns, either for the PC launch or console launch of DB. I also checked the store around the PC launch of DB, but they weren't on sale, so they wouldn't be on sale for console launch either.
