The future of ESO at the hands of marketing.

With the recent marketing failure that i witnessed on BE3 i'm extremely worried that the marketing department of The Elder Scrolls Online is incompetent, how can you let escape one of the best chances you had to decrease the hate around the game promote the game and get people excited about upcoming updates?

Is the problem that the upcoming updates are so unoriginal that you where worried about a backfire or is it that you don't have any new mechanics to announce and you just plan to make the game linger on without introducing new game mechanics for more world interactions? I do hope the justice system was not the only and last of such game mechanics updates that you have planned, you have an amazing game here but its surrounded by hate due the drought of the stupid ES6 and teenagers who go with the trendy choice of saying ESO is garbage, do something please you made the game director fly all the way to E3 to make him talk for 3 mins, show a trailer and repeat the same stuff about the great year we had, its like a broken record!

Why miss the wondrous chance to expand the community and shut the mouths of the hundreds of thousands of doomsayers and haters there is around the game, i was expecting a showcase of housing and a sneak peak to what the next 2 or 3 DLCs are going to be about and where are they going to take place, but no all i got was #OneTamriel which is not even exciting since its been hinted at for a while. Please reconsider the way you do marketing.

There is supposed to be another interview with Firor on the post show. Right now they are talking Prey on Twitch. I can't find out if he's already done his interview or not.

I agree what a silly move the marketing department made for ESO. It's total garbage to call this news. They didn't are not adding zones,dungeons,trials,Pvp instances, or houses. Let's take the easy road here and just let everyone play together and call this news.

Bethesda gave them very limited time, I would suppose. The Elder Scrolls Legends had some pretty bad marketing going on as well.

I liked what the had shown, tho. People on twitch were actually pretty excited about the two trailers and LOVED the mudcrab sequence, not as much about anything else. Finishing the speech with yet another trailed, announcing Vvardenfell and everything that comes with it, would probably be the proper way to say good night from the event.

QuakeCon it is then. Smaller crowd, yes, but sweet nevertheless.

Matt was the first interview. It was just as short as his presentation. They didn't even let him sit in the chair. He didn't say anything new in that micro interview either. I'd say that Matt and Zenimax are in the Bethesda doghouse right now.

Because announcing that character progression is even more pointless is such big news! No i wanted details about the future DLCs, i wanted to get excited and yell with my friends in TS about how cool it is, we ended up mad and saying " well this was a waste of time " and we are right you don't just make someone take a plane to E3 and make them talk about this super small news update. Some fans of this game spent money going there for divines sake, how can you do this to people who love this game so much they spent money going there to know about the game's upcoming updates!

went looking for news about what content expansions are coming up, not that i have been dissatisfied at all with past expansions, perhaps im just getting used to a developer that loves the game as much as the players and keep adding content. but all i have found is this "Tamriel one". i have 3 max level toons and 1 more V1. Tamriel one will mean little to me though i can appreciate it is a large undertaking for the Devs. but is there nothing more to look forward to?

ps. i just cancelled my Sub. many reasons i dont play as often as i used to. (PvP *** ping in australia being the most relevant).

I would like to add that i felt after this that they spend more than half of the time looking back at the past instead of looking at the future, its ok to look back so you don't make the same mistakes but please be weary that the future is what is to come and if you don't think about it you will just walk the lane of safety trying to not repeat past mistakes because you are afraid of them and loosing sight of what is to come and what you could be doing with your future.

These people will never shut up. Skyrim's success has infected the TES community with a large and toxic #Skyrim2OrBust crowd that will crap on anything Bethesda/Zenimax tries to do with their strongest IP outside of the main series.

when it takes you one year to release a finished area due to either lack of knowledge of what your doing, need more money for some card game, or just don't want to due to trying to kill a dying mmo Yes this game was sentience to death When it drop its P2P model

Not mentioning a single piece of NEW content, or mechanics like housing/spellcrafting..... what were they thinking?

Getting people excited with massive features would've been very smart, and we even expected it due to how painfully obvious it should have been.

One Tamriel is definitely cool, but the showcase would've been VERY GOOD if they showed off the next DLC content instead of an already released DLC -_-

...... Unless of course, ZOS is actually playing us and One Tamriel will become the "3rd quarter DLC"

Ughhhhhhhhh, of course. They said before they didn't want to push too much content at once ever again. So this probably IS going to be it for Q3.

It's a consequence of timing. They're not going to release new game pack information until they're ready to show functioning features. Which isn't for at least another six to eight weeks.

But if you read behind the lines, they kind of did reveal what's next. I don't think they would have bothered mowing down PVE restrictions this fall if housing wasn't incoming this fall. There's probably more to it, though, which is why they weren't allowed to say 'housing is coming in Q3.' There's probably not even an official name for the Q3 game pack yet.

I think the whole of Bethesda's showcase was bordering on an unacceptable not one reveal was exciting and ESO was the worse by far. To go to the largest marketing event and not show one new original feature is appalling. Not only did they fail to show any new content they didn't even take the time to make the DB content exciting. I stayed up late in the hopes on news about potential housing, spell crafting or new Q3 and Q4 DLC but nope yet again ZOS completely lets me down.

I mean lets be honest here One Tamriel isn't going to excite or get people to willingly come and play ESO you basically said hey guys we cant be bothered with new content so were turning all areas into the battle level DLC areas. Big missed opportunity and I just hope that after DB drops for consoles you can have an ESO live to excite your fan and player base because E3 was just left a bitter after taste !
