I personally don't get unacceptable lag outside of large PvP campaigns. Maybe I am just in the wrong areas, servers or times but I don't see a massive number of threads stating it's as bad as your poll makes out.

I get fairly dreadful performance across the board in PvE as well as PvP - I'm in the situation where I could do with a better CPU as it is getting on a bit, but I'm not quite ready to spend £400-£500 on a new CPU and motherboard unless I know for sure that the performance of ESO (which is the game I spend most of my gaming time playing) will significantly improve.

it's not just me. my entire group got logged twice today. so no, it's not just on my end.

have you been in DC NA? that's where i'm lagging out of. i haven't tried any other places. i'm specifically stuttering in combat, to the point of it being unplayable. i had to abandon two groups, which i feel bad about.

Actually, I spent the last few days leveling the assault line on my new stamblade and I did not experience low fps or major lag spikes (maybe one). There were quite a few 3-5 minute loading screens tho. This is the sub-50 bracket however, so that might be a factor.

The frame rate in some rounds on vDSA last week was a joke.

Aiming for a good score when you get killed by invisible stuff is pretty fricken irritating

Well don't put too much blame on your PCs, because over here on console, we all know it lags almost everyday in PvE and obviously PvP. We all discuss this, we've all established this, it's not our ISP. I'm not even talking about FPS lag (even though that exists in cyrodiil,) I'm talking about high ping/delays, etc.

I don't get a lot of server lag, but ESO is murderously keen on local resources. And it doesn't help that I'm currently having to play it on a small laptop, due to the fact that my (not significantly dated) gaming PC no longer stands up to the game's exacting minimum specification.

even me play from SEA with 300+ ping doesnt have any problem whatsoever on dungeoning

A GTX 970, regardless of CPU, is going to get you at least 60 fps in PvE. If you crank the settings to max, you might drop below 60 in the more populated areas. A 970 is going to run you around $300 or so. But it's likely to get cheaper in the next couple of weeks with the new 1070's and 1080's dropping soon.

If you're MB is too old, then yeah you're probably going to need a new MB and CPU as well. But if it supports current GPU slots then upgrading you're video card is probably the easiest (and cheapest) way to go to improve performance.
