I am unable to log into the game or my account information page to open a ticket for support saying my user credentials are incorrect, but i can log into forums fine, is anyone else having this issue?

Console I take it? Pretty hard to get hacked on PC. Their security is so tight it annoys the crap out of me every time I change anything on my comp.

Im on PC and it says my account has been suspended, and I honestly dont have any other indication of being hacked. My bank is ok other games are fine and my email connected to game is ok... I think I have been mistakenly banned.

I had forgotten to update my CC info and my last CC I cancelled, I wonder if that could have something to due with this.

The day the forums went all nuts I changed all my account info around just in case . It looked like a denial of service attack that day . No one ever officially commented on what it was .

I know what happened, I think. Ive been on long term ESO Plus. About 2 months ago my old CC was fraudulently used so I cancelled it and got a new card w/o ever updating my CC info in my long term ESO Plus sub info. I think it got auto charged and I continued to play for a day or two then auto frauded by the bank since its cancelled. I have submitted this info thanks @Ch4mpTW .

Hopefully I can get this fixed.... but I messed up big time.

Hey @Ch4mpTW I was hacked. My email was being accessed from Japan, South Korea and Los Angeles to name a few. Unbelievable. As far back as a couple months ago which coincides with when my first CC was frauded. I think the only reason this was caught now is because the Dev's have tightened their security parameters.

I suggest anyone who reads this check the History of Use in your E-mail, these guys are getting smart now, they don't change anything when they highjack your accounts.

This happened to me back in the day but the first thing the hacker did was change my email password...

Yeah, I have to wait till Monday... But in the mean time I've been able to re-secure everything 2 step verify on my email changed PW changed PW's for this forum account and I was able to change my game PW even though its suspended so that's good.

Oh wow. I apologize to hear that. My email addresses require security codes to login to them, once you've provided a username and password — which can only be generated and obtained through my iOS device(s). And even then, I have things setup to force a password change every 4 months. It's mandatory. Lol. And it's like that for every single email address I have, being as I have a different email account for every different thing I'm apart of.

When you're involved with programming, and are a certified security system tester (in almost all forms)... You tend to be very paranoid, and have safeguards for your safeguards like this. And even then you setup things manually to just make things even more harder. I get paid to test for exploits and vulnerabilities in software, so I have to think like a malicious coder when doing my job. And in doing so, that paranoia came along — thus my ridiculous defenses. It's to the point I use a VPN on just about everything I touch (except video game consoles and MMO companies), if it's possible to apply one onto it. Just to insure no one will ever have my true IP address, and have a basis to go off of. I leave nothing behind, but a fake trail no matter where I go. The footprints someone thinks they're following are completely false and randomized data applied.

For example, my forums account information here? Is different from my login information on the game. Which has a different email address. Lol. Which is different from my PSN account information, that has its own email address. Which is different from my ISP account email address. Lmao.

Sorry to hear this, but the first thing I'd be keen to address if it were me is what exactly it was that got hacked - the game account, the email account, or the credit card etc? I'd also want to look at every other account referenced on my computers, especially any financial ones - although I personally don't go in for internet banking or online access to my pension/investment accounts etc for this very reason.

In the case of ESO on the PC hackers can't access someone's game account without first getting hold of their email account details. However, if they've ever bought ingame gold or power-leveling services etc then of course that is a very common way of getting hold of such details and often ends with compromised accounts.

Doubtless that won't be said to be the case here, but I'd in any event do a full scan of all computers with both a reputable anti-virus program and also MBAM. I'd also look more into the other game account that appears to have been interfered with, maybe that was the start of it. I'd also speak to my bank/credit card company as they may at the very least want to put a watch on transactions if not cancel the card, and once you've notified them you're likely to be protected against any fraudulent transaction.

Lastly, I'd consider very carefully whether anyone else has access to your computers, and whether you have ever shared any sensitive account etc information with anyone else such as housemates, guildmates, family members, RL friends etc.

Let's hope it gets sorted, but make sure you check everything else promptly as the ESO account may not be the only thing affected. Indeed, the fact that another game account appears to have been compromised in the first place (along with a previous credit card) would suggest there is more to this than just a hacked ESO account. I also wouldn't rely on it being related solely to an old credit card, whatever is going on is happening now and all your current financial stuff including gaming accounts is therefore both suspect and at risk.

@Ch4mpTW Thanks, I was able to secure everything.

@Tandor I don't share my PC, but I do access ESO forums from my work PC... but I was assured today by our IT guy that there is no way I was compromised by the work PC. As for malware spyware etc. I downloaded a third party spy detector program that found 5 malware virus' on my home PC that my regular virus software never picked up.

@Gidorick Thanks for the moral support bud. The damage seems limited to ESO only, and I'm pretty sure the only reason it was caught was because they have tightened up security on the server side due to exploiter's lately. My bank account is secure and nothing seems to be missing.

But it was crazy to see that my E-mail was being accessed in Japan, South Korea, Los Angeles... Although, who knows. Just router's I suppose.

My home PC is now clear (I hope) I've changed PW's to everything and have two-stepped my Email so anyone tries to access a code will be sent to my phone only.

I really hope this gets worked out though, I had this happen to my first WoW account in '07 and Blizz never gave me back my account even though it was hacked...

Anyways that's, all I got. I'll get in touch with support on Monday and hopefully will not have lost all my progress since June '14 and the Collector pets/mounts/costumes etc...

I'm getting it restored guys, it was froze due to an incursion. Good on security for catching this or I would never have known my email was compromised.

Good news, I'm glad it's been sorted.

Bear in mind that anti-virus and anti-malware programs do two different things, neither on its own will offer total protection. You need both installed. You also need to remember that the most insecure part of the system is the part that hits the keyboard - you. Practice safe surfing, watch what you download, and don't open email attachments unless you are absolutely sure who they're from and what they are. Best of luck with the restoration.

Yeah, it was yours and CH4mpTW's info about virus protection that made me research malware. When I did that I got a couple dif malware programs and they found multiple loggers and other strange things that I guess virus protection doesn't catch. Thanks!
