Imperial Edition steam files vs Standard Edition steam files

My girlfriend just purchased ESO Imperial Edition through Steam.
A friend of mine purchased the Standard Edition of ESO through Steam.
Can I copy his Standard Edition files to her steam library? Or will there be a conflict? Will Steam look for an Imperial Edition and fail to find it?

    You should be able to copy the standard edition files over. Then run a quick repair through steam and it will download any files that are missing or abnormal.

    The files should all be the same. The only difference is something that is applied to the account owning the Imperial Edition directly on the game's account server.
