Ganking as a Sorc - Spell Power vs Spell Crit

Hey guys, I'm trying to construct a build to gank with a destro staff magicka sorcerer. Very small scale, probably in a 2 person group. I was wondering what's better to focus on, spell crit or spell power if I want to burst someone down like a NB would.

If anyone has any additional advice in terms of what skills might be key for this kind of build, please share! Thanks all, enjoy DB!

Given the prevalence of Impen, spell damage is probably the way to go. Remember that you can't get a sneak attack with staff weapons, only physical. My suggestion for ganking would be to have something like mage light on your bar you can spam to get a frag proc and get empower, then charge up a fire staff heavy attack and let lose the frag and an endless fury at the same time to bring them down. Should also probably have crushing shock just in case they aren't brought to 20% by your initial burst.

I would also use a potion or power surge for major Sorcery buff.

Gamma Fyr: Dunmer Sorcerer Stamina DPS (the Missing Sister...props to those who get the reference)
Samekh Fyr: Dunmer Nightblade Magicka DPS
Claire Le'Rouge: Breton Templar Heal/Tank (the Resplendent Bastion)
Augustus Constantine: Imperial Nightblade PvP (Blackwater Bandit)
    Shadow-of-Sundered-Star: Altmer Dragonknight Lowbie

Jump out of hiding with overload light attacks and mages wrath. Nine times out of ten it kills the horse and the player before they can get up.

Overload would also be a viable method but I find it clunky, and you might have trouble recovering from a failed gank, especially if they are a competent DK who will just flappy wings and watch you kill yourself. It also doesn't have the CC factor that frags have, making it less viable against people who aren't riding a horse.

Still very string, especially with empower from magelight.

Keep in mind that your enemies can hear you activate mage light, and any decent player will dismount and block as soon as they hear it. Another reason to have frags for some for of CC.

I don't see ganking Sorcs very much where I am from. But what you described, that sounds like a bunch of fun! Thanks for the insight, I might have to give a shot at this using my MagSorc.
