As Dark Brotherhood draws closer to release the cost of Ruby mats, particularly cloth and leather, is expected to rise. It will continue to do so within in the following months after as more characters reach level 50 and can instantly wear 160 CP gear. I have taken a different route, I been buying up all the Bahraha's Curse of Syvarra's Scale gear on the cheap in bulk amounts to supplement my future alt character slots as filler gear until they can get something better later on. They're not great sets by any means, but they don't entirely suck either, you can get them in any of the 3 armor types, weapons, shields, and jewelry. It's a decent substitution for any characters that you don't want to spend a great deal of crafting mats on or break the bank upgrading them all, but still want to gear them up to handle themselves with highest level equipment available.

This way by the time my alts reach level 50 I have equipment ready in wait for them to gear up instantly with somewhat decent stats and set bonuses. All this without having to craft all the slots each and every time. As they get better gear along the way, those crappy sets become the starter gear for the next level 50's.

I've been saving Briarheart and Trinimac from the Wrothgar dailes for mine. I have enough ruby mats to fill any holes just running around doing dailies I don't really need to go out and collect more.

I'll probably just run most of my characters in the gear they are in right now until I have enough mats to craft new stuff. I have plenty of ancestor silk so I think my magplar (currently VR10) will get a CP160 set right away, but other characters will have to wait. (Or share gear with other characters).

Don't all the existing sets retain their stats? Most people will be fine, and all the gear already for sale will be fine also, unless I'm missing something.

I am going to have 7 characters suddenly able to wear max level gear on Tuesday. They'll all be in gear under their character level. I won't need new gear on all of them, but since I won't realistically be able to run dungeons scaled lower than CP160, I will want CP160 gear on those I want to do dungeons with.

Ah yeah, got it. Hadn't thought of that (all my 50/V1 chars are now maxed), though I had collected a bunch of extra stuff ready for them to get to V16 anyway.

Well if you have a vr4 in vr4 stats scaling to vr enemies in the scaling areas who has say 60cp in each tree (180 total) then on Tuesday you will be a Cp160 in Cp40 gear scaling to zones as CP160 and so while your gear is still "retaining stats" those stats are now ~12 levels below what the enemies are balanced for you to have.

If everything jumps 12 levels except your gear, you lose ground.

I started farming and buying when cheap in guild stores both mats and vr16 sets a month before Tg dropped bc i thought it was coming then. Have kept it up. I got plenty for my needs as well as a good surplus on some that i plan to sell IF the prices spike.

Either way, looking forward to it.

BTW yes, the BCurse, Briars, Trinimac and Pariah fit strongly into my upcoming mixes but also the thieves trove sets of Darkstride, Shadow Dancer and Night Mother (after they get tweaked for Db) are also going to play a great role. Its easy to use any of those as the 3 jewels + 1-2pc companion to a crafted 5pc and a 2pc from somewhere.

The biggest gap is the gold components but innaddition to what i have i have lotsa writ |"boxes" stored back for popping open tuesday. Might get some help there.

All in all with the respecs and regear plus new char slots... going to be a busy June.
