    Sharpened used to be 14% at legendary. Obviously this means you do more penetration against higher resistance targets. Against a resistance capped opponent (33,150 resist) you would penetrate 4641 mitigation. However, only 1400 penetration against a LA user with 10,000 resistance.

    Now I believe it is a flat 5,100 or maybe 5,280. That's over 15% against resistance cap, and over 50% against someone with 10K.

    I think that switching it to a flat amount was a good idea, but because it is such a large number it still makes mitigation underwhelming. Since it stacks with Major Fracture, Light Armor Passives, and % penetration from mace or destro staves, you can reduce most opponents to zero or close to zero mitigation.

    I don't think that's how Sharpened works on Live. I think the 14% increase is to YOUR penetration. Therefore, if you already have 5000 penetration from passives or whatever, the Sharpened weapon increases that penetration to 5700. That explains why Sharpened staves only add a measly 500 DPS in my experience.

    I tested the Sharpened staves on PTS, and they do WAY more damage than the Live versions.

    That doesn't make sense.

    No one has base penetration unless you are Light Armor wearer.

    It does make sense though that you are doing more damage on PTS because you ignore almost 3x more armor if you are testing on Bloodspawn

    In live, sharpened works like and stacks additively with the Mace passive. A defending 2H mace ignores 20% of the targets armor, a sharpened mace ignores 34%. This is applied after Major Fracture or Major Breach is applied.

    Bloodspawn has 18,200 resistance. Major Fractrure is applied which reduces it to 12,920. Now sharpened is applied ignoring 14% or 1808 which is like 2.7 mitigation. On PTS you ignore 5.1K or 7.7 mitigation.
