I ran accross couple new terms today and not sure what they really mean. Is someone kind enough to explain what an "off-tank" is and what does CXP stand for?

✭off-tank is when you're not a full on tank but you can still tank anyway with your secondary bar or whatever it may be (swapping some gear, etc.)
CXP isn't an MMO term, it's a term someone just came up with on this forum to describe Champion Points.2 -

Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.1 -
CasNation✭✭✭✭✭Previous posters have answered correctly, but to into more depth on "off-tank" this kind of role is generally needed in large groups for high-tier PvE content where there is sometimes a need for two tanks, but not always. For example, maybe one boss fight in a Trial has 2 bosses that need to be taunted, but there is some mechanic that prevents one tank from taunting both. The off-tank helps here. For the rest of the trial, the off-tank isn't needed, so they do something else, like DPS.
This is preferable, because if you brought 2 dedicated tanks, one of the tanks would be dead weight whenever they were not needed.PC NA AD
