Exactly. And this fits with TES tradition as well.
Armor can be repaired with filled soul gems. One sells the gems and used that gold to repair armor. Armor repair is an intended gold sink and it's not that bad of a gold sink at that.

Anyways, I think charging weapons is somehow similar to repairing armour.

When you die, your soul disconnects from your body and goes to another plane. A Soul Gem fix that stuffing a different soul in the empty body. It's weird, but makes sense given the context.
Weapons, kind of convert the souls into energy for their ecnhantments. It's even more weird, but only because the Dwemer used to do something similar, combining technology with magic (and weapon crafting is a sort of technology), it's explainable... sort of...
But armor is something crafted with physical materials, leather, metals, fibers... How to explain a physical damage to be magically restored? I know, I know, theoretically magic could do anything, but even so sounds too forced to me.
It's different than healing, which is basically fix the physical body, because magic could be... I don't know, stimulating the tissue regeneration, creating mutated stem cells (that acts faster in the organism)...
As you guys might know - repairing VR armour is expensive and can be annoying since lots of players don't carry repair kits with them or forget to repair them at a vendor before starting a dungeon.
I think it would be a great idea if players were able to repair their armour partly (like a low level repair kit) by using soul gems since they are way easier to obtain and you can repair them anywhere you want because you are always carrying soul gems with you, so no more "oops, I forgot going to the vendor, heading quickly back to the city brb *thousand minutes of loading screens later* - Hi guys I'm back"
You can charge weapons with them, so why not repair armour?
Maybe I'm just being silly here but I don't know, I kinda like the idea. What do you guys think?
Like in MorrowindI would however like to repair it myself with mats - It's weird you can create this wonderful piece of armor but can't fix it yourself... but that chef knows how...
Recharge armor with shards could be a solution but I think it's cheaper to repair with gold if you had to spend a shard for each piece.

Again, like in Morrowind ^_^TheShadowScout wrote: »Like, repair kits being found in-game, if soul gems are, so should repair kits!
