after dropping a lot of my precious gold on a few Akavari motifs. So, if anyone is on Xbox and wants me to make them free chest, shoulders, belts or boots, let me know. I'll feel better if I use them.

Yeah, this is why I don't go spending my gold on motifs ( or anything really ) Unless I know I will be using them..

Ask around in zone, you can offer your services and make some coin back

Yup I feel you on that all though I dropped AP (which I have an abundance of) to see if I'll get some awesome looking light armor that looks better than mercenary for my Mag DK... unfortunately that wasn't the case and I regret ever purchasing it. If only ZOS had a preview for motifs when purchasing a page or the full book.

Make a full heavy set of armor with a soul shriven 2h then run around town tellng ppl to commit sudoku... best use of akavari stuff.

Seppuku. Sudoku is a game. Only reason I know is an old couple that use to come in to my store. One day the husband asked where the Seppuku books were and his wife got this horrified look, starting going off in Japanese, he got confused and then horrified and me as a cashier going 'okay....wut?' and having the wife explain what was going on. It would be nice if you're able to preview what the armor would look like on your character before the purchase. I dropped a big chunk of loot on a few parts of a set that show good stat, then after trying it on... it is ridiculously looking and bulky. I'm trying to resell those on the guild.

As an FYI, come DB any motif that is being sold in the crown store can be previewed to see what the resulting gear will look like. I believe you just preview multiple times to cycle through light medium and heavy.

The Akiviri Heavy can look quite nice (see my stam sorc below) ... but, yes, the 50K AP investment per piece is a high up front cost on top of the getting motifs themselves. I get it.

That does look good on your character. I did look at those sites that show the armors beforehand, but it doesn't always look like you think it's going to on your character. It's like when I buy a suit out there in the actual world and it looks cool on the mannequin and then I put it on and I look like an 80 year old man who is lost.

Guess it depends on your reason for buying the motifs. I have millions in gold, and rarely buy anything other than motifs. I don't expect to craft many of the multitude of available styles. I get them mainly for the achievements. Akaviri will be the last set I complete. It's way over-priced compared to all other motifs, whether the cost is gold or AP. I am buying the pieces slowly when I see a good price, and will use AP for the last few hard to get items. As for crafting it, I have no intention of dropping 50k AP for a single piece. I know this is supposed to be an AP sink, but players would be screaming bloody murder if there was an equivalent cost for style materials in gold.

Not having a preview is an "anti-pattern". I think they realize more money is spent (and wasted) by not having a priview. If they did, then people would spend money only on what they actually wanted.

I guess I never bought Akaviri motifs because the PvP community are so desperate for gold because the seem to not do PvE at all (really, I've seem players who couldn't afford small crafting fees) the don't respect the usual ratio (4/5:1 in favor of gold).

That way Akaviri motifs have stratospheric prices most of the times. I still need 50% of it, mostly those worth 250k AP, but I won't rush, if I manage to get a bit of AP here and there and buy by my own, fine, otherwise, I'll keep doing what I do: exchange motif pieces for Willpower/Agility jewelry.
