I still play the starter islands on my new characters.

And yea, doshia was a real pita.

Ah yes! One of my boasts still today is how "I beat Doshia before she got nerfed." At least that's the running joke. Things used to be so difficult back then. Solo questing was literally impossible. Wtf is a grouping tool?

Back in my day, we used to have to chase bots uphill both ways just to get that jute.

LOL, I remember back before they scaled Guild Quests and I did the FG as a Vet 5 character. Doshia went down with one shot before she could transform. Being Level 8, she should have.

@SirAndy Have you been on the PTS lately? We have starter islands.... that you actually start the game on! *mind blown*

[EDIT] Also remember Doshia. She almost made me quit the game. I got her beat before level 13 though

So they finally realised beta players were complaining about having to finish the islands again and again after each beta round and weren't able to test the rest of the game till they did?

Oh! Yes, i've been on the PTS but always either with copied characters or templates which i believe don't dump you at the starter islands.

There was one specific "Meet the press" beta weekend were those invited special press snowflakes complaint so much about having to complete the islands first and couldn't just go anywhere at level 1 that ZOS decided making them optional was a good idea.

I remember most of us "regular" beta testers were very vocal about this being a bad idea ...

What boggles my mind is it would have been so much easier to put an NPC on the docks, or where ever, that offered a trip to the main areas if you did not want to do the Starter Islands. They kind of already had this, but you had to basically short circuit the starter island quest and could not go back and say, rescue everyone. But this alternate NPC would have been much better than the alternative they gave us.

Doshia wasnt so bad if you had a ranged weapon. On my nightblade (still my main) I had to drop dual wield for a bow at those low levels to kill the healing orbs and take her down.

Back in my day, we used to have to chase bots uphill both ways just to get that jute.

I remember those flying, teleporting material farming bots, lol.
