Get it right @WolfWarrior84 . You're 'Murican, the rest of the world has their dates backwards from us.

Seriously though... it is frustrating how stubborn America is about our standards... dates, the imperial measuring system, Fahrenheit. Our persistence in these sorts of the things is a small part of why the world think we're arrogant

Oh well at least Burma, Liberia and Somalia use the Imperial system. That's validation enough, right?

The worst thing is, it would only take like ONE generation to fix this. Just start teaching both in schools. If they had changed the standards back in the 70s & 80s we would all be using the metric system as a standard.

Oh well... time to go get a third-meter sub and a little-more-than-half-liter soda.

They DID teach both when I was a kid, and they gave up.

Not only taught us both, science classes always used metric.

In the UK, we manage to combine systems. We teach cm, metres at school and then measure distance in miles, for the weather we use Fahrenheit and Celsius . In the summer, people complain it is (for example) 90, however in the winter we say it is -10. brrr

At least you have one system which you stick to. We are trying to get metric but cannot fully commit!

Remember when NASA had two teams using different systems and forgot about converting numbers, only to have a satellite slam into Mars?

    Where's the insult?

I'm 'Murican and I have to admit that our insistence on keeping with the Imperial system of measurement rather than switching to Metric is rather ignorant and arrogant.

    I see no insult there.
