So, I reported someone for speed hacking. Before you ask, yes it was faster than the item sets/abilities let you move, it was blatantly obvious, and if you want to white knight the person go ahead but if you've ever seen a speed hacker you know how stupidly fast they move. Anyways this was Zos's response.

I don't know why the message had so many words ran together, very weird, and they obviously don't take this seriously. Is the message that its ok to speed hack?

I didn't expect to know the actions taken, what I did expect was some manner of professionalism, not being told to go ask on the forums how to increase movement speed, when I know how and have been playing since Beta.

They probably get tons of bogus reports from people who don't know about different ways to increase movement speed, which is why they included the second paragraph. Seems like a pretty standard response otherthan theforgetfullnessof addingspaces inbetweenwords.

I dont see what's wrong with their response. They did mention that they will thoroughly investigate the matter. The side note is just in case of fools reporting anything and everything, For example here's an excerpt from the life of one of my toons le vangy:

One fine day, Vangy was taking a bio break so had his toon le vangy squat under IC yellow base area ladder. Came back from my break to find EP NB scurry along above me. Le vangy has detect pots so he follows. Evil EP NB starts to gank poor PvE care bear yellows. Le vangy being the hero that he is, flies into pawnzor EP NB. EP NB starts to spam cloak and runs away frantically. Le vangy uses pots and gives chase. After 3 mins of chasing evil EP-gankblade falls to le vangy's sword. Now le vangy gets hate tell from EP evil gankblade. "You noob you are a hacker. You are using viper tracker". Le vangy was fully perplexed by this accusation. He knows nothing of this magic called viper tracker. Le vangy replies "I used detect pots" while keeping his calm. Upon no further reply, le vangy assumes the matter is settled.

Fully expecting EP evil gankblade to come back, le vangy faithfully patrols the area in stealth to keep his cute little pugger care bears safe. Alas, le vangy's stealth detection "eye" half opens near a tunnel entrance. Le vangy pops detect pot and proceeds to WB evil EP gank blade to oblivion. This must have pissed evil EP-gankblade off and now he whispers "Im reporting your hacking ass for using viper tracker". Once again le vangy is perplexed. He replies with "My eye marker was half open and I popped a detect pot". Evil EP gankblade dosent seem to understand and continues to accuse le vangy of multiple offences which le vangy had nothing to do with. Le vangy assumes evil EP gankblade filled out at least 10 tickets about le vangy. Yet le vangy is still here. Unbanned and unaffected.

The end. Moral of the story: ZOS prolly has to deal with 10000000001 random accusations that 99% of the time arent true. Sure there is the occasional hacker but those are very rare from my experience.

That's hilarious In this case though it was in Craglorn, they were running at break neck speeds in between the different crafting stations and then mounted and zipped away faster than mounts go (keeping in mind the boost from the cp and possible rapids, which they did not cast). Like not just fast like blatant speed hacking fast. People use the thing that rhymes with sheet bengine to make their toon move faster to harvest faster, and its annoying in Craglorn when they do it because of Nirncrux.

The first response to any complaint is always just a bla bla bla response. In order to be actually heard, you will need multiple screen shots and videos of the person cheating. And even then, it will take a lot of luck to get a true response.

yea ive havent seen any since early days,that area is a a grind spot for leveling and not a very good one anymore.

I don't really see an issue with the reply.

OP it's not like they know you're a beta player or your level of knowledge on the subject. As others have said they probably get spammed with so many false reports about things they're just covering their butts and trying to help players who may not know better learn about mechanics vs exploits.

I mean you only have to read these forums to see that there are hundreds of threads screaming "this is an exploit" because someone killed them in PvP and they don't understand how.

The fact you had a response and they had read your message enough to show they read what you wrote is a good thing. It seems your more insulted by the fact they suggested you might not know about the games mechanics than upset about the outcome.

This is just the automated reply you get as soon as you hit the submit button on the report. It's not someone from ZOS actually replying to you, more of a confirmation message that the report was sent.
