To the lucky PC players who can access PTS:

Is the heal on Draining Shot a sizeable enough heal to be considered valuable? Are we talking a % heal? Flat total?

I dont think it matters how sizeable it is, it will still be pointless because it's a delayed heal that you dont get until the draining shot wears off on the target. In any situation where you need healing, you dont want a heal that takes that long to actually take effect.

This is just another change that shows the devs dont know what they're doing to their own game.

Lol I'm laughing at the above comment because DKs...especially Magic DKs only have delayed heals unless you slot a resto or are Stam and run vigor lol.

To answer the heal was nice if you hit hard and they didn't break it to soon. But if they have cc immunity you got no heal. Have to wait till the immunity drops then hit hem with it again but it won't be your sole healing source. If that helps. I wasn't like oh wow check out this heal!

I agree with you from a PVP perspective. Doesn't seem like it would be preferable over other healing abilities. I hope in PVE it could be of some use.

My playstyle on my archer nightblade (when questing) is to pick off enemies one by one. I use Draining Shot, Agony, and/or Crippling Grasp for field control and to take enemies out of combat when facing groups of three or more. The heal from draining shot could be a nice mid-combat heal if it's substantial enough. That, paired with Reaper's Mark and Killer's blade could be beautiful for combat healing.

Oh wow, that's a bummer that the heal only works if the player does not have CC immunity. Kinda makes it even less effective for PVP purposes. Should be fine in PVE when I'm solo questing. Thanks for the info!

I may have said it wrong.

The pvp player can not have cc immunity for it to work. We tested and if the target player had immunity...you got no heal.

If u hit a player and he broke CC from it you got a little bit of the heal immediately but it needs to be on the full time to get the full amount.

Whoops, my fault. You said it right. I wrote it wrong when I responded.

What sucks about the new Draining Shot heal is that it makes it useless against bosses... which is usually when you need a burst heal anyway. Given that with Bombard you can lock down mobs and keep them at a distance, you never really need a heal against them, but against bosses who can't be kept at a distance, this is when you need that heal... but now it doesn't work in those situations. Doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever to have a burst heal tied to a CC.

Cast on target vs cast on self. Good luck healing with embers when outnumbered

I hoped it could be possible make it work on a NB lizard without being dependant on cloak

I've tested this in duels and stuff on the PTS. It is a great addition to a damage dealing cc. And that's the thing, don't think of draining shot as a brand new heal that is only situational, but as a cc like fear or any other stun with a bonus heal when broken. It may give you that extra second or two to pop vigor or rally and then when they break it, you're back up to full cuz of it's own heal. I've been playing with draining shot on live alot with my bow/2h build, and you become surprised how many people don't expect it cuz it's a very underused skill. And knocking people off keep walls is always worth the troll factor.
