Suggestion for reworking trial loot

Hi,

I am working hard on getting through the new trial which to my knowledge only one guild has finished on v16 weeks after it got introduced. The first boss can only be managed with excellent DPS so I am afraid that before long it will be very hard to find other players to run this trial on v16 because of frustration. On normal it is a bloody joke. If running it on v5 for example, you might do it, but the loot will be crappy.
My suggestion here is to fix the loot to the maximum of trial level and character level anyway, but reduce the chance for getting one of the new set items considerably for running it nominally under your level. So the result would be that you could manage the trial for motivation on that lower level but still keep a slim chance of getting set items of your level. You could increase the difficulty of the trials gradually without giving up too much chance on good loot. There wouldn't be any need to nerf the trial like ICP or WGT and you could keep the overall difficulty without demotivating 99% of the player base.

    I'd just like to point out you can get max level gear from normal, albeit it's blue and at a reduced drop rate.

    vMOL is intended to be for players who are motivated by a challenge (currently) not demotivated by it after 3, 5, 10 even 20 wipes. I'd personally like to keep that gear exclusive to vMOL at v16.

    Nerfing instances is a natural progression. The problem is not the nerfing, but the lack of new challenging content to replace that which was nerfed.

    Edit: IIRC there are about 7 or 8 guilds who have completed vMOL. Two on NA, One on Consoles and a handful on EU.

    I know that you can get v16 rings in blue at the last normal boss. That is why I organize normal runs still. I haven't seen any armor set piece given that way though and which you need to get 5 pieces.
    I personally don't have any issue with wiping. I guess I wiped 100-200 times so far on that boss with various groups and only having had enough firepower two times to kill that boss in time. And what I am afraid about is that you can't go much longer and still find players to join. If you are in such an elite group already to be able to reliably kill that first boss - nice for you.
    I don't really see the need to nerf anything. The eq and the chars will get gradually better anyway.

    You can though, you just need to find the "right" players. Grabbing any old pug off the streets of Tamriel, or taking your friend because you buddies but they do crap dps and die all the time just ain't going to cut it. These people don't work on their builds or mechanics enough to get on the level. The "right" player is going to focus on that challenge and do whatever it takes to eventually overcome the obstacle and keep coming back until it's done. That sounds like it may be you, but not so much the people you've been going with.

    With dedication and some social skills this could be anyone. I am not where I am in game merely by happenstance.

    I think any of the set pieces can drop from the last boss, but maybe I'm wrong.
