vMA round 7 - Stamina Classes (ZoS please read)

mosawer123
So I am a very experienced player and my favorite thing in ESO is Maelstrom Arena. I was one of the first to complete it on PS4 EU and have flawless by now. I usually play on my magicka templar and dragonknight. But there is one thing in the arena that is pure RNG. Its the poisonous mushrooms on round 7.. They spawn randomly and if youre unlucky its right in the argonian shield. As a magicka user you can spam harness magicka, but I dont see how one prevents or survives this on a stamina class.

ZoS is this balanced? I have a video of what I mean exactly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1C2449BqDM&feature=youtu.be

Stamina and magicka are on the same leaderboards so I think you should change something here.

Thanks for all the bug fixes and changes in the arena so far, really like it.

One thing you can do to prevent this is kill the handlers and bash interupt the boss. You may lose time to dps him, but you can at least position better.

Just my two cents, ran into the same issue.

@DocFrost72 Yea I guess thats the only option to lower the chance of getting caught in this situation. Especially while going for flawless.

Have flawless magicka Nightblade and for the specific situation you're talking about its just as bad for us. Poison falls under physical damage, not magic so harness magicka doesn't work for that either. It is much easier if we get poisoned outside of that phase because we can pop a tri pot and spam healing wards while dodge rolling to the green cleansing wells. The rest of the round is easier as well because if we mess up the timing and get stunned by a menders teleport our harness can absorb that and I always run mutagen for the catch heal if anything drops me too low. You'll get your revenge when bone shield absorbs Magic and we don't get spell damage against daedra.

This shouldn't be happening. It's a shame ZOS still didn't change this mechanics. Mushrooms definitely should not spawn under the shield.

But bashing the boss makes him instakill on vma. Normal you can face tank him anytime. but on vet you cannot interrupt him.

This isn't a stamina issue--this is an issue for anyone doing Stage 7.

Whenever that happens, I just stop and let the death come. Shield-spamming only delays the inevitable.

The simple solution would be to make your character immune to all poison plant effects while under the bubble. Yet despite multiple threads reporting this problem, they've done nothing.

Corrosive armor is the solution for all the stam dk's out there. Saved my ass many many MANY times.

OP this is one of those BS RNG moments in that arena that EVERY stam class experience and unfortunately theres nothing that can or will be done about it.
If it were a magicka sorc on the other hand...lol

I have flawless on my stamina templar now. Got lucky with the rng on this round I guess.. Still took me way too long because I died multiple times by this. With healing ward there is no issue  .

A mag Sorc can spam ward and still DPS when this happens, then get to the cleansing pool and be OK with relative ease. Though I suspect ONLY mag sorcs have it this easy.

@zerosingularity I have a magicka dragonknight and when I get poisoned I just spam harness magicka. Even gives me magicka back lol.

Hated it. Took me the longest on first run as I had to figure out the mechs. Basically can't use WW for burn, have to wait for menders to position themselves, and if you can't get rid of that dot w/in two or three ticks (if you're hit) you die.
My suggestion would be to keep an uptime of volley, caltrops, and other dots on the boss at all times. Don't kill the Mender's if a venom caller is up and wait until one of the menders is next to the boss before then killing the other. Kill the second mender directly after the one-hit phase (DPS phase) is over. Again, keep dots on the boss at all times during the non scream phase especially for more DMG. Make sure ground dots aren't on menders and try not to bash him as he could scream randomly scream as a venom caller comes up and/or you are busy w/something else. Try not to be w/in melee range of the boss during normal phase. If he hits you w/his melee and you're immediately hit by anything else (poison tick, mender shock, etc) you will probably die. Avoid all plants and memorize surroundings.
