Nothing scales off health

What's the deal? How is that fair for Nords and Argonians who get a percentage increase to health? ZOS even changed the bone shield to scale off stamina. Why do they embrace the max stat DPS meta but still handicap 2 races in the same faction by giving them health increase and nothing else? Can anyone justifiably say that that's balanced? Does anyone have e a sound explanation? Is this fair, in all honesty?

Health is a basic attribute, that everyone needs and therefore is a "universal ressouce".

It gets buffed more effectively by attribute points/enchantments and all food or drink buffs available.

The concept of effectively having to give up health in order to increase spell/weapon dmg (means making youself "weaker" by increasing your damage) is a cornerstone of the fighting system in ESO (as far as I understand it). Adding to this, there have been more and more effective abilities in the past, that needed to be balanced (nerfed) to keep up with the special role and abundance of health as a ressource and its value as a "trading"-resource.

I remember when it was not only viable but the smartest option to go 100% health ... it led to a very small range of competetive builds and was (rightfully) balanced.

    Death scales off of health.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Don't forget dragon blood heal. Scales off missing health and as such the more health you have the most can be lost before using it.

Home shield was changed to give stam users something similar to what magica users have. A balance issue.

I would personally like to see investments in Health actually contribute to damage mitigation the way investing in resources contributes to dealing more damage, but I heard a whisper that they may be planning to remove damage increases from investing in resources so I just don't know anymore.

I agree, max health should affect damage reduction and health regen, perhaps other things as well.

You're thinking Health Recovery there lol but generally speaking yes higher Health, Magicka, and Stamina does get more out of good Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery.

Damage mitigation alone would be most logical to make it equal footing with Magicka and Stamina.

Hmm 10.5 magicka/stamina is worth 1 spell power/weapon damage. Why can't 10.5 health add 1 physical and spell resistance?

I always thought, with how things are now at least. Health should be what scales defensive abilities such as shields of all sorts, the amount of armor buffed from certain things like minor and major aegis, etc.

This way you would not have these glass cannon builds (by that I mean essentially doubling down on your main stat) that can also be rock solid tanks. Now you have a choice of being a genuine glass cannon with insane dps, but frail as anything so you rely on a VERY good group to prevent you from being smashed while you dish out the damage. Otherwise you can "water down" the dps to become a bit sturdier. Heck you ca. Even stack health to the max and be a walking wall of health and defensive ability, yet hit like a wet noodle.

This way people may be inclined to try new things such as being a dps who perhaps wears a "dps set" in heavy armor to make up for the lack of defense or (granted its possible now) a tank wearing medium armor or the like for the damage Passives it grants.

You're saying health regen and health recovery isn't the same. It's just the wording that differ.

The amount of unmitigated damage you can take without heals scales from health
