Open world I don't find a need for one. But in duels or 1v1's I will throw on fossilize as I see it as completely needed.

We would disagree.

We have been playing an all magic templar/dk group, and it has been extremely fun. Normally running about 5-7 people.
I would also say that we have probably been the most competitive group of that size, and we have been giving larger groups a surprise.

Very tanky and challenging to prioritize targets with that makeup and healing. Plus those Standards.

I can agree with that. I ran into them last night kinda casually and paid the price for my lack of vision.

They run a good set up that makes it difficult for a group that's more set up for Zerg busting, unless you're running heavy heal debuffs and some decent single target damage their going to be silly hard to kill.

Glad to see the chain gap closer in use, and no proxy. Now maybe people will start to see just how strong magicka DK can be when in a solid group, or when people stand in its AoE.

Magicka DK is VERY under-rated in small to medium group play. I have been having fun with it, and i have seen policy and co wrecking shop with theirs. And they say magic DK is dead lol

Who really thinks mDK isn't strong in a group?

That's never been the issue with DK's, they provide soo much utility and group synergy, and AOE skills are great.
Open world is where the issue lies. That's why every mDK video plastered on these forums has support from others.
I do open world a lot, and die a lot accordingly. Group play is a whole other ball game, small scale or large they trump other classes.

With the upcoming changes in DB, it's pretty clear that the majority of mDK's will be using harness magicka being that it will absorb all damage instead of just magic damage. Because of this, will it be more beneficial to run a different armor trait besides impenetrable? I was thinking king maybe running I penetrate on 4 pieces then something else on another 4 (running with a shield).

Anyone have any input on this?

Sturdy for block cost reduction would be a good bet.

Not a bad choice. What about nirnhoned for some resist maybe?

The issue isn't in group play. If I want to take my mDK solo, I'm at a disadvantage over almost any other class.
