Console updates - Why won't ZOS actually put the updates notes in the game like this?

You do realize that some of the more major up-dates patch notes are 60+ pages long, right? If you ever read them on Forums you would know how incredibly long they can be. Natch Potes in forums is fine...:)

Yes I realize that and I do read them all as I play on PTS as well as Xbox One but I was a PC'er and closed BETA tester so I'm different than the majority still playing on consoles.

Regardless of length, the text box on the launcher can offer pages while the updates occur for the players to read the changes. Its a simple copy and paste on a tab within the same screen that has very brief info seldom updated.

They want players to go to the forums instead
I always liked how on other games you can read the patch notes on the title screen while you are downloading the patch. Nice little convenient feature

On behalf of the 5 guilds of 500 players(and the rest of the hundreds of ESO players I've met on PS4) that I'm in/around, we really don't give a crap about having to read the patch notes elsewhere. TBH, you're the first one I've ever seen make a stink over this.

If you want to be good sport, remember to promote these forums and tell those you know who don't come here.

As others and I have said, there are grander things to cry over.

DB is a great example of patch notes that would be of benefit to have in game.

But it's not a big stink. It ms just a poll. The comments that come in an argumentative manner towards me creating a poll asking was the OP. No idea why anyone reads a neutral posts and goes there when it's just polling to offer more relevant info in multiple places.

Biased poll from lazy console kid is biased. And from a console kid.

Having that said, the Forums kinda HAVE a console section, as well. So there's that.

Um, I'm pretty sure in the last thread that was made about this it was stated taht they do post the Patch notes on the launcher. You have to click the little button that says "Patch Notes". Which is the same that PC players have the option of doing. Honestly in this day and age if you are not informed it's no ones fault but your own. ZOS really doesn't even need to post any thing on changes, but they do, on their official web site, which as a direct link to on the launcher.

That's 100% not the case or an option.
The options are to back out or press a to go to character log in screen.
I play on PC and if it was even similar, that would be the goal of this thread for a change on Xbox

If you cared enough about the patch notes, you would take 3 minutes to open up a browser and go to the forums. Stop being lazy.

Just about every other online game has a splash screen with patch notes after an update. But nice job commenting like a traditional Internet ***.

Who the hell said anything about anyone being uninformed? Wth are you talking about?
You clearly have access to the internet, you clearly see the link of where to go and see where those patch notes are.
You clearly are making a big deal over something I've never ever seen anyone make before.

This will never and should never be in Zenis top bucket list of things to do/fix.
Don't underestimate the console users either. If there is a will to see those patch notes, they'll find a way. And the correct way is to make sure to come these official forums.

I find this to be a great idea on Zenis part. After all,you did mention that not enough console users are on here. Well, clearly, if they gave any interest in those patch notes, they will be directed towards this site. Regardless of their situation.

You're telling me, console players can figure out how to acquire max CP, make a veteran rank character, get a boat load of achievements and so on and so on, but some how, some way, they can't go on their phone/computer for 30 seconds to check these patch notes?
    Ha! Hilarious.

Again....the topic is a poll. If you're not on console your comments are welcome but if your comments are argument provoking towards me, why would you get upset in my response?

My response wasn't intended as an attack but in context to your comment I'm unsure that you'd take it otherwise even with my edits and trying to not attack you.

    Please scroll up....
This isn't a post for me
It's a post for the console only community who regardless of what you may think or assume, benefits from have updates notes within the game. You like others play the game and while you feel fine going to a PC or another device to read patch notes, consoles don't work the same. Even more so, on PC, you can stay on PC and read the notes so why wouldn't it be of greater benefit for those on console to stay on console to read the notes while its updating at least?

That's the context of the poll as it's possible so....why isn't it being done?
The topic is not asking why players don't, won't, can't come to the forums as that's not the subject

After looking at your sig, I think it's PC and PS that have that option. If Xbox doesn't that might be an indication that Microsoft won't let them. I know ZOS had issues with Microsoft before with letting them do things. This might be just one of those things.

I don't order the importance of what I'd consider a common sense change.

    For example....on Xbox one
When the game came for beta we have a game hub. (Think of Facebook or Twitter)
We can follow that game and any comment or announcement they make, it's in our feeds. We can comment on it and such.
They didn't use it at all until I and others kept showing and sharing how effective (much more effective) this was on the platform. They were/are using Twitter and Facebook which....ok many ppl use but the platform provides a page where pics, videos, update info, the game store etc are all on one page with tabs.

It's also a good place for updates so 11 hours ago they posted a comment (max of 255 character limit) about Dark Britherhood which has 602 likes, 144 comments and 56 reshares.
This is how the Xbox live community works and how powerful that tool is.

7 posts by them in 20 days has over 4,200 likes...800 comments and 100 reshares.
There is not 4,200 Xbox only forum participants on here actively.
So patch notes should be where the most active community lives so that the game is providing info....

The value add for @ZOS and someone like @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or @ZOS_GinaBruno who type up these patch notes is to display them where their communities can access them. If not, why spend all that time typing them up.
ZOS copies and pastes things there but links don't work so well (Xbox issue not ZOS) so patch notes would be of value in the launch me u while it's latching as well as being accessible in game under the help section because the Xbox one has a game specific help app that does use web link and pages so it's just a big opportunity missed.

Make sense. I just see opportunity
