A quick first impressions of the theives guild

So after playing from two months after launch I finally got a vet character. So I decided to reward myself and play the thieves guild story-line.

Pros:

Variety: What I like about eso content for dlcs is their catering to a lot more audiences with the content. My last mmo dcuo was basically dlcs for just more and more dungeons. Too me variety is much more important than having 5 trails every dlc.

Level design: Is great compared to rest of the game. Secret entrances, multiple paths. Made it feel a lot like my choices in the enviroment mattered rather me just being pulled by a string in the location to go next.

Quest deseign: The idea that their was non combat alternatives or theif alternatives to quests is something that really freshened the game.

Being a theif mattered: could get quests just for doing theiving activities. Trespassing made things more risky and fun.

Cons: Honestly my biggest concern with this dlc is we might not see these options again because future dlcs will be non thief related. I hope going forward they add non kill options to certain quests. Steal or listen in on a conversation quest. As well as add the trespassing feature to at least the feature zones as it makes the stakes go a bit up.

Cons: Thieves guild feels way more involved then fighters guild and mages guild, hope we get something to enhance our connections with those guilds.

I haven't done everything you are supposed to do yet, but these are my first impression from what I believe was the best game update and dlc yet. I know there are those people that just want more dungeons, but I'd rather have fun and unique content and not just more.

Totally agree on this one, i wish we could have far more content reguarding the fighter and the mage guild..

After playing thieves guild for a while, I think it's very boring and quite aggravating. The tip board is awful, just another fetch quest which is horribly aggravating. Heists were fun when I did it with my magicka NB but it sucked doing them on my other characters. Reacquisition is ok, but not much different than other dailies.

I really hope DB ends up being more unique than TG, but my guess is a lot of the same.

I agree on the involved thing.

Mages Guild and Fighters Guild felt lackluster to me. I hope they expand them.
If I die tomorrow I do not want to think of the game I could of played today, therefor I will play whatever I want today while securing a future to play in as well.

A true gamer will think of all the possible outcomes and execute the one that is the hardest to accomplish.

Was the story good or is it all game play? I didn't buy it yet because most of the story lines in this game are pretty poor. Loved the doggah quest in Wayrest though!

Once again a whole DLC slanted toward the dang NB.

    WHY???????

Meh - no need to be a NB - I did fine on my magicka Templar - just craft a spare set of vr15 purple medium Night's Silence armor for doing the sneaky parts of quests, and max out your legerdemain to get the pickpocketing and lock breaking passives maxed.

This is the problem I'm having. I just started TG yesterday on my magicka templar main, and it really is annoying on a character with zero sneak skills. I don't feel that I should have to craft a whole set of armor just for a DLC, let alone respec so that I can max out legerdemain as suggested above. (That said, I will probably be crafting said armor and making some invisibility potions when I play next just to make it bearable.) Perhaps for things like this they should have an initial quest that rewards a set of armor with sneak bonuses?

I don't hate TG but I did like Orsinium a lot more. I hope future DLCs won't be as class restricted because I like to do all of the content on my main character.

@Pyr0xyrecuprotite I agree that there's no 'need' for it, especially on the actual questlines, which are not timed, but it sure makes a huge difference on heists to have shadowy disguise (3 second invis) Even on my stamina NB I can use it 3 times before running out of magicka and that's usually plenty.

I generally agree that the entire DLC kind of feels like it was made for NB, and the next one looks to be the same. It's not bad for me, I play nb, always like rogue type classes, but I think it is a bit biased.

You said the Thieve's Guild was way more involved than the other Guilds, and put that under "cons".
Then you said you hope the make the other guilds more like the Thieves Guild.
    So,it really isnt a con,is it.Rather,its an added Pro. :)
