quest completion and outleveling zones

so with jubilee cake I'm, obviously leveling much faster than before and on one hand its awesome that I'm finally making visible leveling progress, but on the other hand... I find that I'm outleveling the zones way too quickly to complete them. and I kinda like completing them. does my heart good to see all those filled in map markers (not to mention learning entirety of the zone stories, which are pretty fun)

so the question is before I sigh and give up on cake and hitting anywhere near 50 before anniversary ends... what happens to all those skipped quests once I hit 50. do I go back and finish them with very little to no xp towards veteran levels? how exactly DOES veteran leveling work? do the same areas I already leveled through scale up and I start fresh from scratch, do I not go back to old areas at all and instead gain acess to other areas only, do I go back to scaled content, but this time, I only have the quests I skipped left to do?

sorry a little confused on that front and hopefully my questions actualy make sense.

You lose Xp from mobs that you outlevel, but you still get a respectable amount of Xp from turning in quests. If you do every available quest in each zone you will outlevel things pretty quickly regardless of cake. You could decide not to do any non-main quests to try to help expidite the zone and still get your skill points. All in all the best advise I can give is try to enjoy the story and zone and don't stress too much about how much Xp you're getting. By the time you're v16 you'd better have that attitude anyway, no reason to wait till then. Enjoy the journey!

Ps. The zones don't scale. Cadwell's Silver and Gold are set Vet levels and the previous zones in your alliance are always non-vet.

I see... in that case, I'm off to clear every story I find, grayed out or not

    thank you

wait, another question. does that xp go towards veteran levels since its pretty much a given that I will hit 50 long before I run out of story?

Yes it does. I outlevelled Alik'r Desert on one of my characters and moved on. I came back later and finished with VR levels and got xp.

So after leveling up to 10 to play Cyrodiil, I probably leveled 30 more levels in multiplayer alone and the remaining 10 from doing the main quest. When I hit VR1 I hadn't even completed most of the quests on my starting zone.

You don't get any XP from enemies 7 levels below you, but you get XP when you turn quests in regardless of what level the quest is. I recommend not doing it my way since it's been pretty grinding (easy though since all the enemies are low level) to now go through and complete every zone for the sake of completing it. I'm VR2 now and still have two zones to complete in my domain, half of Coldharbor, and then Cadwell's.

thank you all. I'm actualy enjoying following the stories, and enemies being easy is a bonus, as it gets less in a way of the actual story (well that and grabbing all the crafting materials) :) that it will still apply to veteran xp is fantastic. I'm going to relax and just clear my way through - one zone at a time :)
