• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 9

With mixed feelings, i'm giving up with ESO, and taking a break.

Mixed feeling in regards of feeling somehow cheated, definitely disappointed. I invested a lot of hours into this game, but the bad RNG combined to real lack of content feels like i'm wasting my time.
I've spent hours grinding for ancient orc motifs, bosses and mobs, found one. I've spent even more hours hunting for trophies from enemies. I know people who have played since laucnh, and haven't got them all to drop despite hunting for them actively every once in a while. I've read how you may have to beat VMA ten's of times and still not get the master weapon. I have nothing against practicing/grinding, but when it feels useless, then it does bother me.

I'm running a sorc with 4k buffed spell damage, without Kena helm, and enemies just drop dead mainly. I can't find people for trials, PvP is just zerg-trains. So basically, i'm just left with a bad RNG. We don't have any cool minigames to kill time, no housing to grow/do stuff there.

Everyone has access to v16 gear these days very easily. It used to cost a lot, or take a lot of work to farm mats for it. I just don't anymore see anything in this game that would make me continue my subbing. I don't want only RNG based content. Sure, it gives you longetivity, but it's not fun.

But, i've met some great people through my guild, become friends with them, and we still plan to keep on touch, so i gotta thank ESO for those new, awesome friends! I hope i will come back in the future, and that ESO grows to the potential it has, the potential that Elder Scrolls lore and world has.

I'm kind of in a similar situation. I recently had my main SSD die, the two smaller ones are both 75Gb and not big enough to install ESO (Even though the files are ~50Gb you need 80Gb to install). And no, I can't stripe the damn things without nuking and repaving my system because one is the OS partition. Sigh. So now I have to decide if it's worth plunking down a few hundred for a new fast drive just to play this bug riddled grind fest. I see we're going to be running 10-15% slower for a few months, zerg balls are still zergy as ever in PvP, nothing really changed with TG except more bugs got added. It really sucks the will to play out of you. So I just log in once a week now on my laptop to check my mail and train my crafter. That's all I can really find the heart to do anymore. I took a 5 month break about a year back, looks like I'll be taking another one for a while.

But at the same time they welcome and some devs even leave comments on those meaningless "ESO/ZOS is awesome" thread. How pathetic.

Wow, I usually get one AO motif just while grinding mobs for exp in Rkindaleft for a few hours a day. They can drop from random mobs not just bosses. Its rare yes, but almost every time lately I get a motif.

Tell me your secrets! I made multiple visits over 2 weeks and found 5 pages in total. Most of those visits yielded 0 pages.

But yeah OP they normally close these threads as it's against the rules.
