This thread is just me putting out there what I would like to see for this next DLC. Some of this may be happening, some may not. If you agree with any of this, please give me a cookie. (Chocolate chip, Peanut Butter, or Sugar cookies only.)
1. Discussions about any proposed changes in skills, passives, races, traits, gears, etc... at least 1 month before going onto the PTS, because once it is there, we know it is just bug fixing only. (Our input aside from bug fixing ends up next to useless.)
2. Right now, melee and ranged dps can hit relatively balanced numbers in dps tests, but melee has much more risk involved, and is harder to keep time on target (due to mobile encounters and less survivability). It is currently in a case of higher risk for next to no reward (aside from build enjoyment). I propose something is done to improve the melee builds, such that either the risk is less, or the reward is greater (prefer less risk). [Sample idea: While a 2H or DW skill is slotted, gain MINOR evasion. This would improve survivability for melee users in PvE, making it easier to keep dpsing the boss while not being too broken. If it is unbalanced in PvP, then just prevent it from working like this IN PvP.]
3. Class STAMINA skills(and some Ults) ALL converted to poison/disease/physical, whichever is more lore friendly. (I wanna use Power Extraction again over Steel Tornado, but I cannot.)
4. Housing for non-Templars. Including guild housing. (Decorative trophies, area rugs, throw pillows, etc...)
5. Upgrade some lesser used crafted 5pc bonuses to be competitive.Examples:
Torug's Pact - Let it buff MASTER/MAELSTROM enchants too. (Or maybe buff ARMOR enchants by the 30%.)
Spectre's Eye - Great for magicka tanking if buffed, perhaps Major Evasion for 5 seconds(instead of 3) with a 6 second cooldown. Right now no matter what you do this is on live trash compared to Hist Bark.
6. Make health recovery great again. (Complete with hat.)
7. Better PC resource usage. (I think you are working on this already, but I gots to know!)
8. Hardcap on the skill range in PvP. I don't like 45+ meter Special Beam Cannons.
9. Allied Character Sheet Inspection. - A neat feature where you can look passively at an ally to see their stats if you feel you are under-performing in comparison, to help you get an idea where to improve/if you need to improve your build.
10. Smarter loot drops - Better jewelry drop rates on harder content, ESPECIALLY for BoP items. While running multiple times for loot is good, running 100+ times is NOT.
11. In-game mail system for Devs - When big announcements are made, it is nice to see them in-game. However it would also be nice to have a logged message should a person not be logged in or on the forums. (Separate dev mail tab?) This can be used to warn players of a potential exploit, crash, major change, patch, notice of upcoming event, etc...
12. Obligatory:
More Templar Nerfs, because that's what we all want.
More Sorc Buffs, cause they are the weakest class.
More mounts and costumes.
Feel free to post your own game desires, but keep it reasonable, respectful/silly, and as positive as can be.
Update: (Added some new stuff)13. Approximate timetables for improved pc usage (for DB and beyond). As an example, when can we expect xx DX11/12 feature added, and what kind of performance improvement can we expect?14. A detailed guide by ZoS with settings recommendations for different PC hardware. UPDATED whenever significant improvements change. Or even better an automated (opt out) version that is better that whatever we currently have. I ask this because while I can figure out good settings myself, many players are playing on specs far higher than what their PC can handle, and this would be a boon to them.
15. Would also love to see the Soul Magic tree buffed, this is from the main quest and it can be made very interesting. Not only that, but the Ult could use some buffing, it is alright in PvP but easily bash-able. In PvE it needs a lot more damage to be a viable alternative for some builds. (Fire and forget Meteors.) Maybe have 1 morph magic and another poison? Or just a non-elemental type not buffed by CP, and then scaled higher.
16. Something that I think would also be nice to have, would be a slight change to how EMP is crowned in PvP. (No flames please!)
We always see the same people topping the leaderboards, and the why of it depends on the player themselves. However when they top the leaderboards by a huge margin, this makes anyone who wants to shoot for EMP much less interested and less likely to play hard and for a fair amount of time. (Good luck competing in AP gains with a 5x EMP who can AP farm like a BEAST.)
My proposal is this, when an EMP is to be crowned, go down the leaderboards to find the first character that has not been EMP before, and compare their AP to rank #1. If rank #1 has 3x or more (value subject to balance, not sure an appropriate value here) AP, they still get EMP, else the new person does.
This way there is more incentive for newer people to PvP for hours and hours, and those at the top of the leaderboards can still get their EMP and enjoy the overwhelming power.
17. More of the great mods used on PC to have a great vanilla option. Minimap, Awesome Guild Store, and Advanced Filters are some of the ones I think of first for this. Having a vanilla version would mean it would be guaranteed to be updated, and the performance hit could be much more easily controlled. We have gotten some of this already with SCT and lootdrop, and it has been great!
