I often find it unbearably irritating to listen to other player's pets in town, especially the Fennec foxes and now jackals that all the DLC users have. We're able to turn them off by lowering the volume of sound effects, but this mean all sound effects including button feedback and sounds that may indicate danger. I usually find myself hitting the mute button on my keyboard around town. Instead, please give us a separate sound option to turn down or off these pet noises.

I've included a poll to see if players reading this agree, or prefer a second option to separate audio of friendly sound effects (such as pets, mounts, and friendly player skills) from other sound effects, or something else.

I don't mind the pet sounds. I just wish they were not allowed in buildings.

Its not so much the sounds they make, it's how often they make them. If they reduced the frequency of the barks (describing all repetitive sounds even the phrases NPCs say over and over again) it would go along way to alleviating this. However a volume slider might help. Especially if we could shut up those two arguing about South Point in Elden Root. I sometimes want to skip doing that town, but I think they argue about something else anyway. Hmm, I might have to do that next time I take a character through that zone.

Now I go to banks in Silver and Gold zones that are under populated so I don't have to listen to pets.

By the gods yes! I can't describe how annoyed I become while at the bank hearing that constant digging sound (on a hard floor no less). It's a nightmare in certain places not only because of the frequent activation for a single pet, but also because of the number of pets that are there at any given time.

Give me a 'my pets' on/off and volume control, and an 'all other pets' on/off and volume control. Or, if easier, just give me an all pets on/off. I'll take it.

It's not about the gurgles and other pet noises in your speakers, it's about the incessant noises coming from my speakers.

Giving me a way to silence the pet noises coming from my speakers doesn't take away the gurgling from you, so there's no reason for you to oppose this.

I think they should be several times louder than any NPCs talking to you. That way, I get a realistic experience, like having all three of my dogs barking while I am on the phone...

You're in an open world. Deal with it. I don't use any pets, but if someone paid good money to display one, then I WILL hear his damn pet!!!

Just post a sign at the bank "No pets allowed". Then you'll get all the pet owners finding ways to get phony therapy animal licenses...

Or right by the Belkarth wayshrine, "I'm going to lose my shirt here!"
For that you can turn down voices and I don't find it as troublesome as losing sound effects, but Zeni might be able to twist the two options together.

I often do that just to avoid lag, but it's a give and take. Fewer people, less ability to trade and whatnot.

A lot of people have said this, including in another thread here, but my feeling is that vanity pets really lose their appeal if they're restricted from social areas, and I'd prefer a solution that doesn't impact people who like them.

-low- Of all the possible complaints...

I can understand some may find the gurgles and squeaks annoying sometimes, but (personally) it's only ever an issue when in a densely populated area, like towns/cities.

I voted to put both pet sounds and friendly environmental sounds on a separate channel. While the pets are mildly annoying, I'm to the point of wanting to SLAUGHTER ON SIGHT the NPC in Rawl'kha wanting to put that dumb SOB in the stocks, as well as that annoying woman in Craglorn wanting to know where she should put her goods... Let me tell you sweetheart, I not only know where you can put your goods, but I'd like to be the one who shoves them there myself!

They don't really bother me, but enough people have complained there really should be a way to toggle them off without turning off other things.
