Templar DPS build for Vet levels‏

Hello. I’m currently leveling my Templar. I’m approaching level 50 and had some question about what would be an effective Templar build for the vet levels in the game. Currently, I’m leveling as a Stamina based Templar. All my points have been placed in to Stamina. I’m wearing all medium armor. I’m using a 2H weapon on the first bar, with a Bow, sometime switching to dual wield 1H weapons to level that skill line, on my 2nd bar. Leveling has been pretty easy. I’m using mostly weapon skills, with some class skills. I have soloed most of the world bosses I have come across, but from the little bit I’ve read, it seems like this build will not work well in the vet levels.
I’m looking for a Templar DPS vet build for mainly solo grinding mobs and questing. I also plan on doing some dungeons, too. I was thinking I might need to reset my points and put half in to health and the other half in stamina. Use dual wield 1H weapons for solo grinding for the AoE, and use a Bow for dungeons and for higher survivability. Would a setup like that work well? Would I continue to use all medium leather or should I switch to a few pieces of heavy armor and one piece of light armor for the passives?

Consider wearing one heavy chest piece with the reinforced trait, you get a nice armor buff and don't lose much damage/stamina sustain in return.

Any variant of Stam/Mag on any class will work in PvE, Stamplar is actually very strong because you have Biting Jabs and Repentance. Massive single-DPS with a strong cone AoE as well, Major crit bonus and health/stamina back all in one simple rotation of mowing down enemies and repenting their corpses. You also get Major Mending from being inside your Cleansing Ritual now, which means 25% stronger heals. Dropping your Rune Focus (with the Restoring Focus morph) for further increased heals. So essentially:

DPS; You have Biting Jabs available to you. It's your bread and butter and all you'll need a lot of the time. Combine it with bow skills, Executioner from the 2H bar or skills from dual-wield and you're looking very strong. Also remember that Biting Jabs will proc the Burning Light passive from the Aedric Spear skill line, which is nice additional damage.

Heals/Protection; Repentance when killing enemies for health/stam return. Purifying ritual for cleansing negative effects, giving you a small heal, increased healing, and a synergy for allies. Restoring Focus for major armor buffs, healing buff and an additional damage reduction buff.

I'm no stam-build guru but those are your key skills as a Stamplar. Hope I'm not missing anything.

If you want general notes on being a Stamina build:

DPS. You want Some combination of two hand, bow or dual-wield. Two hand has Wrecking Blow, so if you want mega-DPS at the expense of being a bit cheesey, there you go. Executioner is great. Rally is nice for the heal and weapon damage buff. Crit charge is nice if you need a gap closer.

Bow, you have poison injection which is a strong DoT for bosses and the like, as well as bombard to immobilize groups of enemies. Volley, which will turn into Scorched Earth (I believe) is an awesome DoT. Dual-wield has that great passive where if you have a sword in each hand it increases your weapon damage by a nice flat percentage (or if wielding two daggers, your crit - not sure which is better). Whirlwind morphed into Steel Tornado is awesome for mowing down mobs, I'm not sure but I believe it might out-DPS Jabs at low health, plus it's radius is omnidirectional meaning Jabs > Low Health > Steel Tornado isn't a bad rotation at all. As another note, if you have Champion Points (if not you're about to unlock them) keep it in the back of your mind that Biting Jabs, Volley, Poison Injection and any other abilities which do damage over time get buffed by the Thaumaturge passive. When you start noticing the points into Mighty giving you 0.1, 0.2% returns, start putting points into Thaumaturge as well as it'll buff your damage up a lot.

Useful non-Templar skills: Vigor as a heal. It's the only Stamina heal really, and the only one you'll need. I imagine with the aforementioned healing buffs it would heal like a truck, never mind with Repentance. The Ultimate, Dawnbreaker? Unlock it's morph, Flawless Dawnbreaker. Just by having it on your bar you get a nice 8% increase or something to your weapon damage. Caltrops is a nice DoT and snare if you can unlock it.

Uh, what else... I'm drawing blanks but those are the bare essentials. If you need advice regarding what armor sets to use I'll make it simple; Hundings Rage is a must, not much else can compete with the damage it will give you. From there, choose armor sets, food/drinks, jewellery, mundus stones, etc, that fill in the gaps of damage and stamina recovery that you need filled. Play around with different combinations.

I highly recommend studying Deltia and Alcast if you want to build a powerful Stamplar.

I've been rocking slight variations from Deltia's Dual wield/bow build.

    Rock solid.

So, a 2H weapon, like a sword or axe, is still pretty viable for PvE Vet levels?

Can you provide a link to that guide? I see Deltia's Harvester build for Stamina Templar. Is that one you're talking about?

The 2H skill line has a lot of great skills. I really love using Rally (Momentum is the pre-morph) on my Stamplar. It gives major brutality, which grants you 20% increased weapon damage, and it also gives you a heal over time. Without Vigor (a stamina skill from the PvP skill line), this self-heal is quite helpful. Critical Rush (Critical Charge) is also a useful 2h skill, since it is a gap closer. It lets you get from monster A to monster B more easily. It's a great way to target healers and range first. I find myself not using Wrecking Blow (morph of uppercut) and Executioner (Reverse Slash) on my Stamplar since I rely on Biting Jabs (class skill) and Repentence (class skill) more than anything.

Anyone have a good cp set up for stamina Templar? I'm wondering if i should put more points in dots than before thieves guild patch.

Thanks for the info. Do you put all of your points in to Stamina? Or a split between health and stamina?

Been rocking a stamplar for a while now. I use 2H and bow. Based off of Deltia's Harvester, but then tweeked a few things.

1 bar (2H) - Crit Rush, Biting Jabs, Executioner (finisher), Evil Hunter, Rally - Flawless Dawnbreaker
2 bar (Bow) - Arrow Barrage, Luminous Shards (helpful with dungeon parties), Poison Injection, Power of Light, Repentance - Shooting Star

    5 medium Hundings Rage
Engine Guardian light shoulder/ heavy helmet
    Agi on rings & neck
weapons are hundings rage because i haven't taken the time to get maeltrom weapons yet... probably never will because i'm not that good :p

Anyway. I was able to progress through vet ranks easily enough. Have no problem with any dungeon... except IC dungeons, but lets face it, that depends so much on your group. Good build!
