Will the next DLC include some substance, Group content and some emergent Game design?

Pretty disheartening that ESO seems to be actually turning away from things that make an MMO and seem to be focusing on churn content they can throw at solo players. will the next DLC be a traditional more MMO style DLC?

I agree, my girlfriend and I recently unsubscribed. A couple ESO friends and I have switched over to The Division for something different, and have been having a blast.

We don't plan on "quitting" ESO, but there hasn't been any new content that has caught our interest. Imperial City was an amazing DLC, and we had countless hours of fun down there doing PVE and especially the PVP.

Now that I've gotten pretty much everything I can get down there (polymorphs, gear, etc...), I struggle to find motivation to spend more time in IC. In addition, the new PVE DLCs (Orsinium and Thieves Guild) feel very bland to me... The open world PVE content is easier than IC and Craglorn, and none of the rewards feel meaningful for my playstyle.

We hope that some new content gets added to IC, or maybe a revitalization of Craglorn.

Didn't they say they were not trying to make a "traditional MMO"?

Also while I agree that ESO needs a bit more group content, I actually like they don't ignore solo players in favor of only appeasing group players like most MMOs tend to do. Orsinium and TG were great in that respect.

But I'm sure the next DLC will include group content to some degree, though perhaps the "mostly group centric" content will be reserved for after the Dark Brotherhood update.

It'll be Dark Brotherhood and the Gold Coast of Cyrodiil. That's all we know. The area should be pretty sizeable. Nobody but ZOS knows what the content will be. I would like at least one new group dungeon.

One? Bare minimum they need 2 and some actual group delves and a 16 man that is not trial those are basically a dps e peen competition. I am not against solo content for those that don't like group content or challenge? It's quite obvious solo players don't want anything to complex as the reaction to maelstrom was less then stellar. I am not strictly saying we need group content . Emergent game play would be adding new weapon lines and skill lines like necromancy. And possibly complete revamp of the tanking system

Dark Brotherhood (the guild) will be a lot more like Thieves Guild (the guild) than what we saw in Orsinium. It will be adding Elder Scrolls style PVE to the game, and it will probably be very solo-able, like Thieves Guild. I have no doubt that Dark Brotherhood (the DLC) will be successful, like Orsinium and Thieves Guild.

The real deciding factor, as far as group play is concerned, has to do with what extras come along with it. We know that Wrobel is working on Magicka vs Stamina. They will probably drop some changes for lag. Those will be the only "PVP related" things that I expect to see. Kvatch is a likely source for a group PVE activity, if they want to take advantage of the Kvatch lore with the DLC.

I think their best bet will be to cycle DLCs for the three main styles of gameplay, doing one solo focused DLC, one group focused DLC, and one PVP focused DLC. As a PVPer, even if they only want to do one PVP DLC per year so they can fit in more solo/group stuff I'd still be content. For instance maybe one year do two solo, one group, one PVP, then the next year two group, one solo, one PVP.

They can also throw in additional things to cater to a style of gameplay the DLC doesn't focus on to give players at least a little something while they wait for their style of DLC in the cycle (like PVE dungeons in IC, if you want to consider that a "PVP update", or new solo questing zones in DLC that is focused on group dungeons/trials).

That being said, I do think they need to mostly dedicate each DLC to one style of gameplay, rather than trying to mix two of them together, much like trying to mix PVE and PVP for IC, which resulted in both PVE and PVP players being relatively unhappy with the content. Better to please one type of player than to displease all types of players.

Gold coast on the ZOS map is about the same size as hews bane. So I assume it'll be about the same size and general makeup as hews bane.

The Thieves guild was fun for a short while, and something tells me The Dark Brotherhood will be very close to how the TG was done, I hope it has a little more meat on the bones, but lets also look at the base game changes they said were coming, last ESO live, they did confirm VR levels are going away and, a rework of stamina was talked about a couple of ESO lives back, so with all that I am afraid the Dark Brotherhood will just be a little more short term fun, I love new content I just wish that they released something that lasted longer than a few days.

It is pretty disappointing that their DLCs are focused on single player questing instead of new MMO elements.

I would just like a little clarification in direction the game is going. if its gonna be more of a single player on lime game with no emerging game play and mechanics . and very little group content added id rather just stop my eso plus and play it onece every couple of weeks

Murkmire is an adventure zone which will be released as DLC sometime after Dark Brotherhood. It will be much more like Craglorn, focusing on group content and also looks really cool itself.

Do not be surprised if it is the 3rd quarter or 4th quarter dlc this year :)

I dont really think anyone was expecting a wrothgar sized DLC every four months. That wouldnt be possible. most likely it will be 3 small areas and 1 big area per year.
