Group advice

DarkWolf_GR
Me and a couple of friends are starting new characters, new classes and roles that we've never built before. we'll be PVE, dungeons etc mostly.

dragon knight, stamina, werewolf. off-tank / damage. Intends to use DW and 2h. possibly s&s instead of dw if more tanking is required. 5 medium 2 heavy armour.

sorceror, magicka / health, vampire, tank / healer. d staff and r staff. 5 light 2 heavy armour.

nightblade, stamina, werewolf, damage. bow and dw. all medium armour.

the intention atm is for the sorceror to be the main tank using damage shields / wards and the dragonknight to switch between damage and tanking as needed for example when the sorceror is focusing on healing. nightblade will just be damage dealer.

any advice on builds would be appriciated.

Personally I'd set the DK as the main Tank using S&S purely because the taunt skills appear to be (I can't confirm as I'm only going on observation) vital to properly focusing aggro.

Sorcerer can then be the primary Healer using the Resto and have DPS/buffs on the other bar. Although, without a Templar the Tank may struggle with Stamina if resource management becomes an issue.

StamNB is what I have at V16. I recommend him running the Shadow Ultimate on his buff/bow bar (morphed to Veil of Blades) to assist the Tank (whichever one you decide to go with).

Regarding weapons/build as I can't help on anything else:

I suggest him/her primarily running 2H due to the fact that NBs (I'm not sure if other classes have access to this) don't have any 20% damage buff over a period of time. It also provides great single target damage (Wrecking Blow) and the best execute I've heard of in the game procing at 50% and providing 300% additional damage (Reverse Slice/Exectitioner)

For group content I typically run..
    Bow/buff bar:
    Relentless Focus
    Siphoning Attacks
    Caltrops
    Scorched Earth
    Poison Injection
    Veil of Blades

    2H bar:
    Rally
    Wrecking Blow
    Reverse Slice
    Surprise Attack
    Vigor
    Soul Harvest

The key with this is to always keep RF, SiA & R active to maintain resource management, damage (28%) and healing. If my Stamina is running low I just switch to bow bar, reactivate RF and SiA and hit with four light attacks: this means that I can then fire the Spectral Bow (11k) and replenish 4k Stamina to minimise the DPS loss. This combination also works well with animation cancelling PI when you need to be at range.

This setup also provides Assasination and Shadow passives on both bars which I find useful. I don't even use SH, it's only there to build my Ultimate up from kills to reapply my VoB.

If he/she is suffering with taking too much damage and/or range isn't needed, switching out PI for V and adding Immovable (increased resistance) on to the 2H/damage bar is also helpful.

I'm running all 7 medium (as I don't have Undaunted passives) 5x Hunding's and 3 NMGaze but probably going to build in Monster sets once I've looked in to them properly and have them.

Let me know if there's any Qs.

    thanks for the detailed answer.

the sorceror wants to try tank so for now at least he will be primary, he can taunt using an undaunted skill.
I personally like having good damage and sustainability so i can solo some too but if needed i'll full tank, will probably be sorted out after a few dungeons.
I'll pass it on to the nb, should be helpful to him.

The sorcerer tank is an unusual but perfectly viable option. However, going for a Light armor build with 2 staves isn't very tanky. It'll work for most of the normal and veteran dungeons if the players in your group are good, but he may want to try to get a more tanky set with heavy armor, sword and shield & restoration staff. You can still tank with Damage shields with a set like that.
About the vampirism, I'm not saying it will be a problem... but I don't think it'll help in any way in PvE.

Since you are starting new characters, I recommend leveling as many skill lines as you can, so you have flexibility later on. If your initial plan doesn't work, you can always respec and find yourself playing completely differently.

Initially at least that sorc tank is going to need to run S&B on one bar at least. The (stam) taunt in that skill line is unlocked right away; the magicka ranged taunt in the Undaunted skill line won't be unlocked until you get that skill line leveled up some.
