Thieves Guild Assisstant extremely underwhelming

When i literally GRINDED through the thieves guild questline i kinda expected more from Pirharri the Smuggler.
I mean, fencing stuff with 35% less profit is already "meh" enough but i hoped i would be able to launder stuff conveniently or let her clear my bounty without traveling to those atrocious outlaws refuges.

Am i the only one who expected more from that assisstant? :/

I haven't played through the content enough yet to get the assistant, but I have to say I happen to really love the outlaw refugee places. I like that all of them are different, but all of them feel "thievish."

I'm not really sure what about them that you don't like. At least to me, they seem to fit the guild story line.

    And.. don't forget..

I agree. The thieves guild quest line was great, but the NPC "pet" you get for finishing it is more than a little lackluster. 35% is far to high a price when you can just waypoint and sell for full price. I realize that the whole point is to give you something special for completing it, but with what he charges there is little doubt he is a master thief.

Seems good, have a ton of stuff and don't want to get caught with moments.

My first impression was the same. i EXPECTED full fence capabilities at normal fence rates and so, it was a let down when i saw the specs.

However, after the initial impression and the "wont ever use that geesh" I went on playing and lo' and behold, i started using it frequently.

As i try and move other chars up the legerd skill line and finding troves etc, I have found that it is really convenient to fence away the bulk-take-up-inventory items at will whereever I am, even in the empty rooms i find them in. Since the smuggler is available to the account wide, all the others get to use it.

Also, yeah, its good to fence the stuff in the few cases i have to risk bounty or find a safe box that i know will earn me heat but hey, before a guard comes by the loot at least is sold.

Anyway, in practice, the 35% is more aesthetically bothersome but at this point gold isn't that big a deal so, losing a little off the top for thieving when i need to for convenience or timing, that is fine.

beats having to go shrining back and forth. Now i can fence the cheap and bulky stuff and stay in the field, holding the blue pricey stuff for when i really need to go in.

I would be more disappointed if it had the same rates as every other fence.

I may be in the minority, but I always approved of portable companions having a con of some kind. Something to keep them desirable (convienance) but not enough to completely make visiting the outlaw refuge obsolete.

But if it is of any consolation, I also expected her to at least double as a laundering assistant too.
