My C drive is too small to install ESO. How do I install the game on my D drive?
I knew I should have held out for a larger SSD as my C drive. Oh well.

Garldeen✭✭✭✭Dowbload the setup file to your desktop and run that. One of the steps will ask you to choose when to install eso. It will give a default but there should be an option to change it. Select change and then find a folder in d from the directory list.
It has been a while since i installed but cannot imagine the process has changed too much. Post back if still stuck -

gypsythief✭✭The exe that Wonkydog is talking about is the "Install_ESO.exe" that you downloaded from the account section of elderscrollsonline.com.
Run that, and click through the various stages until you get to this screen:
Click on the "Change" button, and a "Browse for Folder" window will appear:
Note that MUST click the "Make new folder" button, as the installer DOES NOT automatically create a folder itself. Name your folder and then click "OK" button to return to the main installer window. Click the "Install" button and you're done.Edited by gypsythief on March 25, 2016 2:07PM -

✭✭✭✭✭Just FYI, you can also move the complete ESO folder to another folder/drive/computer and it'll run just fine. You might have to run repair in the launcher after a move but it's still a LOT better than having to download everything again.
Of course any shortcuts you may have will need to be pointed to the new location.

I wonder why the disk drive alphabet still starts with the letter C. It isn't as if we use those dinky little floppy disks anymore. We use SD cards instead. But if you plug an SD card into your computer or into an external reader via USB, you get some higher letter assigned to it: F, J, K... never an A or a B. At 24 hours, I'll have 1300 MB downloaded, which will leave 35300 MB remaining. That's an average rate of 15 kbps, and my DSL is supposed to maintain 135 kbps. Since this is a new computer, it's possible that Windows is downloading a long parade of security updates that I don't know how to detect, much less postpone until later. If this rate continues, I'll be able to log on to ESO for the first time since the TG update in about 27 days.
I'm lost in space 70,000 light years into the Delta Quadrant, but I'm inching my way back home.

Benie✭✭✭I got my ESO install on my secondary 1TB, yet remember if you use mods, they all get installed to your My Documents folder (the C drive).
I got this problem too. I got a 160G HDD as my C drive that I've had since 2005 (knocks on wood it continues to work...).--Char info updated as of March 23rd, 2016 - PC NA--

I've no idea why it is so slow. The service is Frontier Communications. The location is West Virginia.
I have learned that in my county when the telephone lines were laid the phone company mixed aluminum and copper wiring without bothering with impedance-matching networks. I don't know whether or not that's a contributing cause.
Lots of stuff is "hillbilly quality" out here. Nothing is sleek and robust and built with decent margins above spec. It's all jury-rigging, temporization, and quick-fixes. The local governments are mostly corrupt, and that means the capitalists can get away with their own share of abuses, too. Buildings exposed to the weather are made of non-pressure-treated lumber, which rots at the ground level in about 10 years, and the roofs are made of cheap asphalt tile over waferboard. The wind blows off the tiles, or they get holes in them, and it isn't long before the roof is rotten and leaking. The power goes off when it rains, and sometimes when the wind blows in an unusual direction. Substandard stuff is used just about everywhere. ✭✭If I were you I would get an external hardrive and play on that, if you don't have the space to install in c drive then your going to need all the memory you can get, the game requires this, in order to run so just move all your games and place all your games on an external hardrive and delete everything from the c drive that way you have memory. You can get an external hardrive for sixty bucks or something like that. Its worth it and allows you to have open memory and thus improves performance. Basically head to staples and find a 1 terabyte or 2 terabyte external hardrive that can be connected to something like a lap top and just transfer your games to it.Edited by Thevampirenight on March 27, 2016 12:45AMPC NA

The API and windows swap files are on the SSD. It would be nice to have the game on the SSD, too, but there isn't room. Acer cheaps out on SSD size for the Predator AG6. It should be at least 512 GB, but no they only put in a 128 GB SSD, and it's the boot drive, which speeds up the boot, but reduces the space for other stuff.
