Is the dungeon finder supposed to take 30+ minutes on PS4?

I've only ever tanked or healed. I've never waited longer than 2 minutes to be placed in a group. Today I switched to damage and so far i've been in queue 5 times, once was 12 minutes but all other times were over 30 minutes for random veteran groups. To make things worse I was kicked immediately from several groups including once when reasoning was given as to "invite a friend" thus allowing another damage dealer to completely bypass the queue which I just waited through.
End the tedious inventory management game.

    During prime time the wait is like 2 minutes.

    8pm to 11pm PST IS prime time in MMO games There's easily 10 times as many people logged in right now on PS4 than i've ever seen before... even more than PC launch.

    It's probably because nobody is trying to use the Group Finder, they're out doing TG, Cyrodiil, etc. Also some players are still downloading the update.

    I once waited 3 hours to find a group on PC... last week.

    Well, the 1+1+2 group setup ESO uses is not optimal. Theres still too many DPS players compared to tanks and healers. 1+1+3 works much better IMO and youd still be waiting in queue much longer as a damage dealer.

    its a known issue, one of the ZoS replied to another in another thread about group finder being broken and taking over 30 minutes

    So...

    PC launch - group finder works flawlessly. Few months later there's an update and it breaks the group finder... FOR NEARLY A YEAR. It's finally fixed around console launch... works great... and here's another patch to break it again.

    I wonder how long it's gonna take them to undo their screw up this time?

    I once sat in the Dungeon Finder where the Estimate said 8 minutes while the Actual was 1 hour, 17 minutes. This was on a Saturday. PC

    30 minutes is very short for a DD on PC.
