Arrowheads

What do you think about the idea of having shaped arrowheads for your regular shots from a bow? They aren't equipped, they would be consumed like food giving you a buff that lasts 30 minutes applied to your weapon.

Serrated Edge - Your Light and Heavy Attacks with a Bow gain X amount of Armor Penetration.
Blunt Tip - Your Light and Heavy Attacks with a Bow have a chance to stun your target.
Poison Coat - Your Light and Heavy Attacks with a Bow have a chance to snare your target.
Powder Coat - Your Light and Heavy Attacks with a Bow have a chance to knock your target off balance.
Razor Hook - Your Light and Heavy Attacks with a Bow have a chance to cause your target to bleed X amount of damage over Y seconds.

    Why? Because you play an archer and it would be fun for you to be OP? How is that balanced with 2h, DW and staves?

    We could add weapon coats to everything, crafted oils for melee weapons and add gemstones that amplify staves.

    Wow someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. There's no reason for you to be so snappy with people simply because they pose an idea. That's the whole point of these discussions, and the whole point of brainstorming. Not every idea is a good one, and I've seen far worse suggestions than this.

    OP, I think it's a really interesting idea. It would take careful planning to provide that level of versatility to bows without giving an inherent advantage over other weapon types and playstyles. However, I do think it's within the realm of possibility. There are similar advantages to using destro staves, like concussions and snares, etc. The same is true for dual wield weapon types, e.g. maces for penetration, axes for bleed.

    Like it. An idea very in line with DB.

    On the othe hand, why not just apply poisons, not only to bows, but to all physical dmg weapons? An each poison has a different effect.

    That's true, but enchants are pretty limited when it comes to bow utility. There's a pretty large disparity between what's usually considered optimal (e.g. crushing or weapon damage) and what's available (magic damage + restore stam/health/mag and unresistable damage)

    We have potions with negative affects. In Skyrim we could poison our weapons for a single attack. I would not mind this as you could implement something like adding the potion to your weapon (even staves) where for X number of light or heavy attacks will have a chance to proc that potion. We would be able to slot these potions into our quick slot bar and reapply during battle but it would have a global cooldown with all other potions.

    A little off topic but similar, I think it might be an interesting idea where you would be able to throw a potion down at a spot to give allies a minor buff/heal from that potion. If lets say your stamina tank was out of stamina and the potion was on cooldown you could have your healer throw a stamina potion at their feet to give the 25-50% of that potions affect, and it being AoE so anyone else that was in that small circle would also benefit.

    Or Just instead of "arrowhead buff" make it as equipable quiver in slot? No additional stats, never part of set, Just special, "weapon type" as it is already with all other (but healing staff) weapons. Also it would allow separating quiver and bow style, and would make quivers dyeable.

    And for effects not to be OP, it should only work with basic attacks (especially not with dots).

    Quiver with damage ("leaf" head), ar.pen (bodkin), bleed (broadhead), critical chance (bullet) type of arrowhead could be made for bow to become ranged "sword", "mace", "axe" or "dagger". Acessing this bonuses could be based on bow passive.
