Happy brithday, Oblivion. We had some good times destroying sigil stones, spellcrafting, and running around in full camo armor. You were the first Elder Scrolls game that really made me fall in love with the world and lore, and oh that epic battle at the end between god and dragon...good times.

...makes me feel pretty old, though.

    Happy bday oblivion.

INB4 "Oblivion ruined TES series blah blah blah"

But seriously, Oblivion was such an awesome game and was perhaps the best balanced (imho) of the series.

Great main story, excellent faction stories (well, Fighter's Guild was a bit meh), and a couple good expansions.

Only gripe I ever had was how the game scaled everything. At least mods helped fix that.

'Okay, the question is...(laughter)...the question is, we have Vicious Death sets with Prox Det that are doing double damage from last patch -- they're doing double damage -- and the CP system scales them even more. Prox Dets are doing over 20k, okay? That's before Vicious Death does 15, m'kay? We're talking like 30k+. Okay.
"So, what about the stamina?" Okay. Um "The 2-handed execute skill--" I'm s--I'm sorry. What? The 2-Handed execute? What?! What am I gonna f***ing do?! Am I gonna execute a f***ing zerg with a 2-Handed slice?!'

Loved Oblivion. My first experience with the Elder Scrolls franchise. Spent many hours playing the game with a crap load of mods. Also learned how buggy Elder Scrolls games were, press F5 every few minutes in case of ctd's.

Happy Birthday, Oblivion! You were my first Elder Scrolls game and like others I fell in love with the DB there. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with DB here, though I am tempering my expectations to not expect a story as amazing as Oblivion's.

Love Oblivion so much! I think it had some of the best quests in the entire franchise. The DB quest line is absolutely fantastic, and so is the Mages Guild. With everybody always talking about Skyrim this and Morrowind that, I always feel like Oblivion doesn't get nearly as much love from the fans nowadays as it deserves. It's a fantastic game!

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I played a little of the first two on horrible old pc's back in the day. Then Morrowind happened and I was sold.............only for Oblivion to blow it out the water. Yeah yeah it was a lot shallower and I always missed the politics of morrowind and the depth of choices, but there was so much to love. Ever since, I find it hard to enjoy anything other than the bethesda formula to rpg's and I think Zenimax has handled eso really well.

Now, where are my old Oblivion saves.....

And there is still a lot of people still playing Oblivion. Thanks to what? Thanks to the awesome big mod community TES have.I am actually planning on installing Skyrim again to play the many mods that came out since the last time I played it,including the many content expansions made by modders which many are even better than what Bethesda do.

Long live the TES mod community. Now I just wish ESO had a player made content system at least close to the one in Neverwinter.

Naaah.,Morrowind was the best to me.Way over OB.I hated the fat faces puffy look of the characters, and I couldnt get them to change too much. The story was a bit too short and easy to do. I dont know all of why I didnt like Oblivion, but I didnt.I wanted to,but nope. My favorite will always be Morrowimnd. It fully fleshed out Tamriel so beautifully.

    Having said that,..HAPPY 10TH B'DAY,OBLIVION!

I guess that is just because the leveling system is a bit awkward in Oblivion - you have to level in an optimal way or you will fall behind your enemies. My tactics was to choose those skills as my main skills, which I do not use often, so that there is always enough time for other skills to get to 10+ advancements, so that I can level 5/5/5 every time.

Do it like me - I do not have that much time to play, but I have 2 hours each scheduled per week for Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout NV, Fallout 4 - so with a total of 8h/week I have these games covered - and within a year it adds up to 100+ hours spent on each of those - it's slow, but this way I can play all and have still some time left for ESO and EVE online.
