Time to rebalance mag/health/stam?

infidel1983
Hi guys

Looking for a bit of direction. I got into the game without much thought, opting for a Breton DK.

Anyway, im now up to Vet 3. Throughout the levelling up process Ive basically allocated stat points evenly across all 3. Its fine on solo content, just spamming 2 handed etc. However, when it comes to group dungeons im really struggling to find my "role". Im defo not a healer (barely touched resto staff). My party trick is spamming wrecking blow (with occasional Standard of might), all else fails I revert to destruction staff and spam heavy hit.

Basically, im thinking of rebalancing my points to very tiny magicka (so i have enough to dragons blood) and putting those points into health or stamina, dropping the destro staff (pretty high level on bow as an alternate) and continue focus on 2 handed (im heavy armour maxed out too)

I want to be good at dungeons basically. Either a tank or a DPS. Would love to hear suggestions on how to steer stats toward either

Cheers
If Carlsberg did Dragonknights....

You need to choose, stamina/weaponpower or magicka/spellpower.

You want to do all of your damage with the larger pool, use the other pool for utility.

Hybrids don't work in ESO. You're a Breton so you should go magicka, you probably would enjoy Destro/Sword&shield.

Tank or dps... all points in stamina. hybrid builds don't work in this game, either go magic and staves or weapons and stamina. You have extra magic as Breton so staff with fire for dk. You are never going to hit as hard as a Stam race with two hander or a bow. I would go magic use duel wield it increases spell damage (don't ask why) and second resto or detro. I would level both to switch back and fourth. I would stick with dps. Not to say you could not tank as it can be done but a Breton dk will need a lot of changes to make the racials work. I know what you want to do but if you were an imperial or Redguard or wood elf or Orc I would say go for it. The truth is you are not and will never put out melee damage like a Stam race.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

I say go for it.. Be a stam Breton DK. You DPS will be good and with racials you'll have that little extra magicka for your utility skills. I run a redguard magblade and my DPS is solid. Don't let race hold you back from what you wanna do ingame. Only suggestion I have is, trade out 5 pieces of that heavy armor for medium if you decided to DPS instead of tank. Will make things a lot easier

I agree. I understand the performance issues are there, but I think they're only noticeable if you're parsing or something.

Against all conventional wisdom, I decided to stick with my Dunmer Stamblade and I am LOVING it. I can pump out a couple of extra Crippling Grasps or Shadowy Disguises; on many occasions they've saved my behind, and even swung the fight in my favor enough to secure the kill.

The moral of the story is "play what you like". You may take a slight numerical hit. But if you're smart and you find a place for your non-standard racial passives WITHIN your build, you should have no problems. Use Mundus Stones and gear sets creatively, and you'll be golden.
