Exploration, Training, and Reinforced are for new characters. Sturdy only if you're poor and die a lot, which usually means new characters or people who have above-average lag in Cyrodiil.
This s a case of be careful what you ask for.
What will happen is ZOS will go rng on traits and you'll be looking at Training, Well-Fitted, Exploration, Reinforced.
I'll take the Infused over that, thx.
Before you say "But ZOS can make them any specific trait if they want to".
Yes, but when have you ever seen them do something that sensible? You really expect them to start now?
Look what happened with Respecs. Now we get nothing even though we know they have the ability to make them cheap for a week instead of forcing respec or nothing. But they don't.
Again, Be careful what you ask for.
The only traits you can have on v16 Monster set gear are: Divines, Impenetrable, Infused, Reinforced, Well-fitted
I made a poll not long ago about this, and people were 2:1 in favor of a fixed trait rather than RNG.

So you got what you wanted.

But what I'm reading is that the vendor traits are viable traits for PvE min/max builds.
And what do we have again? A totally useless trait on a shoulder piece. Please try telling me how useful infused is on a small piece of armor... because that argument totally makes sense for everything..
It's completely *** useless to add *** traits to a vendor, there's no point for it. It's just adding onto the irritation the players already have at zenimax. And what do we have again? If you want a perfect trait go grind the dungeon and stop QQing. Still better than NOTHING or well-fitted if you ask me.
Remember, there could be no vendor at all.

Grinding PVE should not be required to be fully competitive in PVP; and vice versa. PVE players may think otherwise since the AP required to level Alliance War skill lines has been reduced, but IMO the only PVP players okay with repetitively grinding the same PVE content for dozens or hundreds of hours are those who also enjoy PVE.
Well-fitted is arguably superior to infused on small pieces; depending on one's build or play style, of course.
I think the weekly merchant was a half-assed approach--like most things PVP--to make AP worthwhile, but if that's how ZOS wants to enable a PVP acquisition path for these items, they should be offered with traits enthusiasts want.
Offering the items in Impen would be an ideal solution because it does not trivialize the PVE grind some apparently enjoy(?) Another option would be to make Impen monster set pieces tradable so PVE players can sell them to PVP players.
I believe ZOS has put it this way because it's fair. This is the drawback to being able to buy sets so easily. They'll be a crappy trait. They already offer Light, Medium, AND Heavy at the same time. This we can at least be thankful for. Imagine doing 50+ runs and getting a heavy piece WITH a crappy trait. I'm okay with the traits if they're not willing to change them. I'm still grateful no matter the trait.
Good lord you ppl are worse than a bunch of kids you don't like infused? Oh no let's qq about it not being exactly what I want. I'm rocking a well fitted nereinth helm and reinforced shoulders because of rng but I'm not going to complain about being about to get an infused head with worthless AP.

That AP is worthless *is* the issue.
The lack of empathy is appalling. If BIS PVE items were bind on pickup PVP obtained items that required the same investment of time, there would be widespread rage from the PVE community.
When ESO was new and PVE dungeon rewards were poor, this is exactly how the community responded.

Yes and the majority still agree. Not like one traits makes a massive difference does it. But rng *** things up a lot more than just infused.

Gonna have to agree with @Nifty2g on this one. It's absolutely nonsensical for them to add a trait like this to a shoulder piece. Why couldn't they just let us choose the trait, and charge 1-2mil AP for it? Or at the very least give it a chance to drop impen, it's a f***** pvp vendor ffs.
Any idea what the other piece was?
So far, there has only been one monster set piece offered per week. The other two items offered each week have been Cyrodiil set pieces.
