Crown 40% discount the day after I bought crowns

It is unfair to announce this discount Crown discount in the store, without any warning. I thought I was being smart by buying crowns a day early before the new DLC. However, if I had known this deal was coming, I'd have waited and spent my £15 to get 5500 crowns instead of 3000. Other companies, such as Riot Games (for League of Legends) always announce their deals to ensure they don't have thousands asking for refunds. Is it possible for ZOS to either: refund the 40% off or give out the extra crowns (seeing as the discounted prices nearly match up with the normal prices, but one tier up [i.e. £15 now gets you 5500 up from 3000]). I think it would be reasonable for them to do this for all who have purchased a week before the discount occurred.
I will post a support ticket, but I think warning customers before discounts is only fair and that this should be carried out in the future.

ESO is not Wal-Mart or best Buy ..... you expect a mailer showing all upcoming sales?

How were you smart to buy for the normal price a day before the DLC was released? Did you expect a price increase?

Get over it and deal with it ...... it was your mistake, not an ESO mistake ......

You named ONE company, MOST MMOs do not advertise their currency sales ahead of time because they want more people to buy them at regular price. These companies know that if they advertise a currency sale, everyone would just wait to buy and they would lose money in the long run.

Hey a lot of it is the platform too. Last big sell was black friday and I bought $200 (birthday money) worth of crowns and tried to compile them all into one purchase on ps4 because I had an extra 10% off throught PS4 coupon and PS4 couldn't do it. I had to buy one at a time.. Such garbage.

Even if they announced it in advance, there would still be people who bought crowns a day before the announcement, being annoyed by the fact.

I was shocked when I went to the store to purchase and the sale hadn't started yet. Oh well, get some of those sweet discount crowns now!

I did the same too, but oh well. Should have figured they would do something with the release of the new DLC. Lesson learned.

I thought it was common sense to wait until discount, I did exactly that and I had no idea it was previously announced anyway. I just waited. How are they supposed to make money by selling DLCs if they offer lower price at the very beginning? Well they did, but they cleverly didn't announce it very well. Such discounts function not only in games, how do you buy stuff in "real world?" When I see advertisements of new products, I wait 2 weeks or more for the discount that is sure to follow. Your request for the refund or for warning customers about discounts is really ridiculous. Think of what you would do if you were trying to sell a product. Also, they could have indeed announced the discount, but make the dlc cost 2 times more. What do you prefer?

Logically I would think ZOS loves $$$ and would want as much of it as possible surrounding the release of their new DLC. I'm surprised they discounted prices to entice people to buy. They had better have a similar discount on console on or before release date or they're gonna be sitting there wondering why no one is downloading it.... Everyone waiting on those discounted crowns

It's all in the terms of service that you hastily scrolled through and agreed to without actually caring to read it and understand it.

To be fair, nobody really does.

That doesn't change the fact that they don't have to, but its a weak argument. The pure and simple fact of the matter is that there's always going to be someone they have to tell no to when it comes to refunds on a sale.

If they allow a day, someone who bought them two days prior will want it. If they allow two, then someone who bought them three days prior will want them. So on and so on, ad infinitum. It's much easier just to say no.

If you want to take advantage of the sale, by more. Let that ride you out to the next sale so you don't have to worry about it anymore.

I don't feel the OP has been cheated. Sales come and go and this is the way of the world. At best you can predict their likely timing based on previous sales but I wouldn't expect to them to advertise ahead of time.

If it really bothers you all I could recommend is never buying crowns for full price. Hoard your money and wait for sales.

If they had a sale before, they will have a sale again. No one should buy crowns full price when they regularly go on sale.

If you are new to the game, than I have sympathy because you would not have been around during the sale at the end of 2015. If you were around back then, you should have known.
