Some of the bullet points are confusing.

1:08 looks like his soul harvest missed due to your dodge roll or evasion buff, but his surprise attack cancel hit after you dodged. If his soul harvest would also have hit, you would have lost a lot more HP or maybe even lost the fight right there.

You had CC immunity from stealth surprise attack, his invasion didn't CC you. You just were under the effect of the gap closer root that everyone hates.

Ninja San is very OP, ping rate don't keep the man down.

@OdinForge You are right the Soul Harvest missed. My mistake. I'll edit that note.

For the other point, he does go into cloak but you see he is all the way on the other side of the tree when when he reappears and then I streak across him.

It just seems like a long distance for the CC to activate considering Surprise Attack is melee skill but it could be cause he is fighting all the way from Japan :).

I took the note out just so there isn't any confusion. Thanks.

How the heck does ninja-san keep his stamina up while almost chaining break free and dodge roll? He didn't even take a break after his first fight. I've seen stamina builds chain together 4-5 dodge rolls, but then they are cooked.

@Wreuntzylla He is running 5 Willow's Path, 4 Morkuldin and Agility jewelry(?) with drinks. This gives him really high regens for both stamina and magicka.

This works well for Stam NB because he can use Soul Harvest/Incapacitating Strikes to boost his damage 20% to give him burst, despite having lower max stam/weapon damage than some builds. Plus he can cloak a lot more than typical stamina NBs.

In this video, I'm also running Willow's Path, but I'm in 5 Heavy, 1 M, 1Lt with Bloodspawn. I think I had about 2k stam regen but my damage is pretty low which is why it is hard for me to pressure him.

@Wreuntzylla I'm am also reducing his damage with Minor Maim -15% damage dealt debuff by using Deep Slash as my DPS. Very few of his Surprise Attacks hit me at full power and I have 5 Impen to reduce crit damage.

Looking back, I should have had Crit Surge instead of Defensive Rune, and used Reverb Bash more to debuff his healing. But Reverb is one of those broken CC skills that as soon as someone sees it they want to cry foul.

I think it still has legit uses, as long as you aren't spamming it.

Honestly, if that other player hadn't come in and Ninja-San hadn't respectfully stopped fighting you because of it, you wouldn't have stayed up any longer from what I can see in the video. You seemed out of stamina entirely too much, and Ninja-San's CCs would have eventually worn you out and goobai.

He actually has close to or over 40K stamina. He doesn't use regen drink typically, so his ability to cloak should actually be inferior to most typical regen based stamblades, even with willows path. With the right amount of regen plus good resource management, you can sustain dodge quite easily.

At least in well controlled 1v1s.

I appreciate the insight into his game. However, we all know discussing Ninja San's build or gear is an insult to him. Obviously that's not why he's good. He's just smarter, faster and classier than all of us. Yes I hate him for it and yes I accept that makes me a dishonorable opponent. He should be banned from the game and forced to play BDO.

Huh, did not know you could have enough stamina to vigor like that with Willow's.

Your pressure was fine and you played great. His heal debuff just looked like it had more effect than your reverb.

You mention the drawback of using Defensive Rune.

The biggest issue is that you do not control when the CC hits, rather it is random and dependent on the opposing player attacking you. I really want to control my CCs to be used when I want to set up a burst, when I am losing and need to disengage, and when my enemy does not have CC immunity.

I do think this skill could serve as an excellent first-strike/gank tool in that it is precast, you attack, enemy counters, is CCed automatically, you burst enemy down. In the sort of open field fight in your video, I would rather have crit surge, although that probably goes better with a two-hand primary bar as critical rush offers amazing synergy.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I was lucky to escape his burst to that point, and had to LOS behind the tree. So you are probably correct.

@sixuponthelot I've tried Reactive as well to mixed results. Reactive works great on builds that can quickly reheal using Major Mending+Vigor after tanking during the CC such as Vir Cor's PVP tank build.

@OdinForge I only assumed he used drinks but stand corrected again.

                Good fight.

I enjoy fighting ninja-san. He is a very good opponent and loves an honour duel.

He runs a very strong duel/1vX build and does well for 200 ping (I'd love o have ping that low though!).

I like solo ninja-san more than RAM ninja-san, as I am sure when running with RAM he gets a sore steel tornado finger haha!
