This is only of the worst things in the game in a game with "Choice" the jewelry shoe horns you in to one set. Damn near every build archetype use the same jewelry theirs no there is no variety everything is so cookie-cutter.I don't care for the visual. Crafted jewelry would be nice but it would also give in more to power creep. The need to bring back soft/hard caps.
I think ZOS likes the limited # of jewelry sets. I gives them a chance to sell more DLC so you can get your B-O-P jewelry for running B2P content.
crafted jewelry is never nice,
everything in ESO is craftable except jewelry which is a reason to put some effort in order to get
especially legendary quality jewelry.. if we can craft jewelry then it will be boring to have everything with 0 effort

And yes, it supposedly was in beta, but got yanked - I always thought they did that because a crafting skill line with only -two- things to craft/research would look somewhat anemic... even compared to woodworking at six, and especially to blacksmith and clothier at fourteen.
Of course, it would be great to see jeweller get added at some point!
All they would need were more things to craft... and there are possibilities.
Crowns for example, as armor-slot piece that has limited armor value, but perhaps provides some group-wide buff if worn by the leader? (wouldn't you love to lead your PvP zerg wearing a shiny crown?)
Or some alternate destruction/restoration magic weapon... I always thought having only big ole wizard-staves was a bit meh in this regard, and would love to see some "spell focus" as alternate option, things like (depending on racial style) holy symbols, ornate spellbooks, gemmed skulls, meditation crystals, gilded scepters, shaman rattles - sounds like stuff right up a jewellers alley.
Bing - rings and amulets and crowns and three destro and one resto spell focus - seven things to craft. And with that, jeweller would be as viable as woodworking...
