PvP Seasonal Vendors and Seasonal AP

@ZOS_BrianWheeler @Wrobel

So, PvP vendors are not being updated because people have saved up to much AP saved up, per Wrobel. This is my idea to get around it.

Split AP up into Seasonal AP and None Seasonal AP. A season is from one DLC to another or it could be every two DLCs. When a new season starts any AP you have becomes None Seasonal AP and Seasonal AP is reset to 0.
  • Seasonal AP vendors sell new items that are refreshed with every dlc or every other DLC. For example, new types of siege, new gear, new gear boxes, ect. You can only spend Seasonal AP at these vendors.
  • None Seasonal Vendors are the basic vendors we already have. These vendors take none seasonal AP.
  • Every DLC or at least every Two DLCs, Seasonal AP vendors have all of their entire contents moved to the None Seasonal AP vendors. The Seasonal AP Vendors are then refreshed with new stuff.
  • Bonus: We could also do the same thing with Tel Var Stones and their vendors so that those vendors can be refreshed as well.

Thoughts? Any better ideas?

Note: I would appreciate keeping complaining about wanting to be able to spend all of your total AP on the new sets out of this thread. We already know that they are dug in on not letting you do that per Wrobel, so let's come up with a solution.
V16 Uriel Stormblessed EP Magicka Templar(main)
V16 Derelict Vagabond EP Stamina DK
V16 Redacted Ep Stam Sorc
V16 Insolent EP Magicka Sorc(retired)
V16 Jed I Nyte EP Stamina NB(retired)

It shouldnt even be up for discussion, people earned AP and have had nothing to spend it on for a long time.

Like I said in the last line of my post, this isn't really the whine thread. I feel your pain I'll have something in the area of 8-9 million AP saved up by the time Thieves Guild hits and I know people that are going over 20-30 million, so I feel your pain. However, it is what it is, so either AP remains worthless indefinitely or you find a compromise.

Multiple currency types for one event (Cyrodil) seems to convulated.

That's making their issue require more developer time and they don't seem interested in fixing problems for long term solutions...only band-aid fixes.

Don't cave in on an issue when Zose is clearly wrong in this matter. There is no need to compromise when we worked hard for our AP and have nothing valuable to spend it on...thats not on the player. We need upgraded sets or something valuable like tempering alloy to buy with our AP not seasonal AP caps lol.

No need to have two different types of AP. I'd feel like people would get annoyed from being forced to play a ton over certain periods of time to get seasonal gear.

Seasonal items could be really cool though. Certain sets that are good, but not OP, available for a limited time from AP vendors. Cool and unique effects that are also strong and fit into specific playstyles. Unique motifs or Akaviri. Not sure if it should be BoP or BoE. Similar to limited time Crown Store mounts (I just bridged off into "limited time over the course of a couple weeks" rather than "seasonal" sets lol). Still, both would add more to PvP.

Seasonal sets sound like a really good path to begin on.

It might be simpler to have some sort of AP to gold exchange rate in-game than to create a new currency. Even if the exchange rate is terrible, for those with tons of extra AP is beats not having any gold to buy tempers, alchemy ingredients, etc. with.

Or they can just put a limit on how many v16 bags you can buy in a day. That would stop people from getting all the gear in one day and everyone gets to keep their AP.

I'm not at all convinced of this. Wrobel is not the CEO, and he is not the only decision maker at ZOS. I think it's way too early to be making peace with this illogical scheme, and players should not be offering concessions or compromises until all the arguments against this crazy AP reset/cap/whatever have been acknowledged and discussed by ZOS.

That scheme sounds horrible to me. What if one of those seasonal sets turned out to be "best in slot", but only the lucky few who bought it at the right time would be able to use it for eternity? There would always be this elite caste of "gear lords" who would be overpowered compared to everyone else, especially newer players.

Just need better ap sinks, give it a few weeks after the vendor is released first, people may even buy 4x one item when it comes to gear a few charas and get a different armour types.

I'll likely be getting 1 of each armour type when the right trait comes up thats instant 600k.

There isn't any way to add gear as an incentive to PvP that doesn't favor veteran/dedicated/gear lords. If you add it to AP vendors, they are going to get more AP than most people. If you add it to rewards of the worthy, they are going to get more rewards of the worthy than most people. If you add it to Tel Var stones they are going to get more Tel Var stones than most people.

Though, the seasonal idea does help since any new sets can only be purchased with AP your earned during that DLC or Season. After that season, it moves to the none-season vendor, which allows people to still buy it.

I agree with what you want entirely. I made 10 million+ gold off of buying and guild trader flipping arch-mage, shadow walker, cyrodiil's light, and morag tong. I want nothing more than to be able to buy this new stuff with my hoard of saved AP and sell it to people at ridiculous prices.

It's less caving and more saying, "Given the circumstance that ZOS holds to their refusal to give you what you want, what kind of alternative would you be at least reluctantly open to?" With the system I described in my OP, we are guaranteed new PvP gear regularly and our saved AP still retains at least some diminished value.

Like I said in my original post, they should be good, not OP. Making BiS gear only available through a seasonal or limited time method is not what I'd want.

I was thinking these sets would be along the strength/usefulness level of Overwhelming Surge. A really good set, not BiS or OP though. Simply a strong set, which would cost a massive amount of Ap for 5-pieces. Worth purchasing, but not breaking the game.

Maybe even sets that promote certain classes, or alter a bunch of class abilities. Hoping to see this eventually (Like Master Armor)

You do know come live these sets aren't going to be 200k right? Gold and AP sink is imminent and DW about this. None of these items are going to be under 500k a pop.
