Dilemma - Thanks ESO

Thought i'd give eso a shot whilst I was waiting for some games (the division, unchartered 4) to come out.

Ive never played an eso game before and didnt know what to expect. I rolled a magika templar and it turned out i am really enjoying it. Ive taken my time with the leveling however have enjoyed it all and will be hitting 50 soon. There is still so much more i want to do in the game.

However those games ive been waiting so long for are almost upon us. Infact the beta for one is happening this weekend.
I dont have the time to play multiple games. Especially those of an mmo/rpg nature.
Thanks ZOS for putting a spanner in the works.

Has anyone else got the same problem? Do you think you will stick with eso?

Nope....The Division.....FTW... Leveling and the pve is great but all the bugs, lag, multiple exploits that are a year plus old, broken passives, class imbalances in the pvp is just too horrible I'd rather purchace another game with less problems and a better staff than sinking more money into more bugs on top of the old ones. I'm a pvp type player and ESO pvp is too bad to keep hoping for fixes each month that will never happen.

This was my first ESO as well ( ;) ).

I'll be sticking with ESO as my "main". I dabble in other games from time to time. Within a day or so I've had enough of "something different" and return to ESO.

Welcome, have a cup of Kool-Aid.

I definitely have the same problem! I have 25 games lying in wait that I haven't done squat in because I keep coming back to ESO. When the servers are down or Xbox is acting wonky I'll get a little playtime with the others but it usually happens, most recently with Unravel, where I get on ESO for "just a second" to complete writs or feed my mount or whatever and whoop - 4 hours later I'm still in ESO and it's time to go to bed. Poor Yarny has gotten no playtime, all those terrorists in R6 are running amuck, and I have a feeling that the Division will just stay divided once it hits. Can't say I'm unhappy about it though - Tamriel is my home!

I play a few games, and don't feel obligated to play any game.

Some days I want to game, some days I want to just chill, hang out with friends, kids or my wife.
Some days I get tired of a game and uninstall it...maybe months later i get a desire to come back and play.

My advice is...don't feel like yo have to commit to any game. Its entertainment...handle it as such and enjoy life.

Its O K if you leave.

I'm a sword and sorcery kind of guy so The Division has little appeal for me.
BDO maybe but I'll look at some reviews and such. Not a huge fan of the art in that one.
CU, probably not. Only one character? pfft.

Ive not had the joy of eso PvP yet. Historically ive been a PvPer accross games such as destiny and WoW. Is it really that bad?

The PvE, particularly dungeons have been fun so far and may be enough to keep me. I admit though it does take a few attempts at group finder to get a nice group that works together.

On the point of groups, of all the games ive played, the people i get chatting with in ESO are much more mature and easy to get along with and usually results in a friends request. I do wonder how the social element of the division will go. If its like COD im not interested.

Even since I discovered PVP I haven't be able to leave.

Seriously, I'm stuck inside Ash keep wall after someone repaired and I can't get out. I spent all my money on bank upgrades so /stuck won't work either.

Yes a lot of fun stuff to look forward to this year, ESO has its work cut out for it retaining players. Hopefully they can find a way to do that which doesn't involve introducing more needless grind to the already overwhelming grind and which does in fact involve fixing a lot of bugs and class balance issues.

    Its true what your saying.

However, ive found some of the fun for me is working towards achieving something. And in an mmo theres lots to achieve.

Sometimes the longer you dont play an mmo game the harder it is to bring yourself back to it. Theres a feeling of being left behind.

Destiny for example, ive been off for half a year. I know if i go on now i will get obliterated and wont be very good. Partly due to having to readjust to the game play and also having gimped gear versus everyone else. If i go and get myself back up to sratch then i will be in the same position with eso. If i start the division the same happens again. Its hard to keep up and one of the reasons for commiting to one game.

Ive probably picked the wrong genre.

I rinsed COD for the last 6 years... probably the easiest game to jump in and out of so is good for someone like me. I get bored very quickly with them now though.

I know how you feel, its tough to juggle multiple online games since they take so much time. Single player games don't matter, you can pick those up at any time and play them at your own leisure. Theres plenty of single player titles Ive waited months to buy since I have was enjoying my MMO of choice at the time.

I have even did this with multiplayer games too. I've had new MMO's pre ordered or even expansions for other MMO's and I didn't even play them at launch because I was enjoying another game still.

So anyways, my advice would be to just do what you want. If the division launches and your having fun playing ESO and don't really want to play the division, just play more ESO and move to another game when your ready.

I'm hesitant for The Division. Ubisoft sucks bad these days.

I'll wait for everyone to buy it, read some honest, not paid for reviews and then see if it is worth it.

    Shooters are my preferred playstyle.

ESO is a good game, just think their development path is wrong and don't see it sustaining itself as an MMO much longer. Playing with my friend as we level up and the irritation of solo missions breaks keyboards every time.
