Many of the Two Handed axes and Maul weapons seem a bit small to me when I see a character holding them. Some styles are ok but some others just look a tad small.

^Big Nord with a baby Rattler^ (And this is one of the better styles.)

I think they could look a lot more epic and powerful if they were scaled up a bit. I am not asking for Tera weapons which are just stupid, but a slight enlargement would make a big difference in making characters look stronger and more 'Hero Like'. Especially when they swing it with two hands when it seems like it is too small for two hands.

Thoughts?

I get you. But I'm more appalled by the size of one handed aces. They look small enough to be a regular every day hammer. My Orc is as big as he can be and dressed head to toe in heavy. He looks ridiculous swinging around the little toothpick ace.

That is one of the few aspects of ESO i like. Weapons are more realistic than in many other MMOS.

I feel they are still realistic if scaled up just slightly, not majorly.

A real world battleaxe is actually not that big - just fantasy games make it big, but it does not make sense at all. What it has to be is somewhat long, but not big. To have both sides with blades is as well pretty silly - normally one side has a pick side for piercing swings, the other side a blade for slicing swings and the top a pike for a piercing thrust.

Having fantasy style blades would limit penetration depth of this piercing thrust a lot, while not adding much to the damage of the slicing swing. The blades are curved in order to concentrate the impact energy on a small area so that it will slice through armor - the wider the blade gets, the sooner the impact will be hindered to cut even deeper. Now if you consider all this, you will find, that size is limited by the constraints of how the weapon is actually used and how the energy of the swing/thrust has to be converted into damage. A much bigger weapon does not make you more powerful, but more likely to fail.
