2.3 magicka Class question

Hi guys, sure many of you are testing the 2.3 in the PBE and I would like to know what impressions you have about some magicka classes, specially the sorcerer and DK.

What can you say about the competitivity of these two classes?, always talking from the magicka point of view not stamina.

I know that DK have been always more sustain than anything else and the current situations in the game is burst damage wins. So I would like to know if after the changes, it is competitive play with a magicka DK or Sorcerers will beat them before they can get a heal from burning embers.

You know what I mean, I'm tired of playing stamina builds, I like both classes, DK and sorcerers, so is very hard for me now to decide, if I want to play a magicka class, which of both I will profit more in the next DLC.

Templars are not included in this question... but maybe NB magicka.

    Healing ward is for all classes ;)

    But i expect mag dks to Rock next Patch

    I don't think mag dk's are going to dominate near as much as people think in open cyro. Duels sure they have gotten a nice buff with burning embers but as others have said around the forums: "they are still sitting ducks in open world pvp". Sure the DK will be better off than it is in current patch but if you are looking for strictly dominance then imo mag sorc is always a safe bet!

    Magic dks look great. Sorcerers got buffed of anything mainly with pets and in cp system

    But can be possible that Sorcerers are better for aoe damage more than dk?

    I read the description of their skills and mostly explotes and do damage to ppl around... and I don't know if I would like that in pvp, if makes sense or go for a DK...

    Because my idea is do a Sorcerer complete mage, aoe and etc, or go for a DK, heavy armor, magicka and more focused to 1v1 or small scale pvp.

    I think it depends on your playstyle, sorcs will have better mobility and burst which helps small scale fights.

    Dmg wise I think sorcs will be better due to the CP changes but DKs will be very useful as support builds.

    In large group fights DKs have many useful skills, Deep Breath (aoe ress interrupt), Talons (aoe root+dot), Cinder Storm (aoe snare+dot), Igneous Shield (group dmg shield+major mending) and Magma Shell (the new barrier). DKs also have a reliable gap-closer now with Empowering Chains, this will make DKS more mobile which will improve survivability a bit.


    Vicious Death 5pc bonus will also be increased by DK World in Flames passive (6% fire aoe dmg).
