Stealth Archer... Templar?

I initially thought that Nightblade would be, far and away, the best class option for a stealth archer build. But what about Templar? The Templar passives "Balanced Warrior" (+6% weapon damage) and "Piercing Spear" (+10% critical damage) seem to fit in really well with my sneaky Bosmer. Seems like a sneaky Templar archer might be similarly effective as a sneaky Nightblade archer. Am I way off in my thinking here?

Main reason is that Templar can't maintain distance like a NB. NB can alternate between cripple/cloak/teleport with Bow cc to kite. Templar is SoL once your stamina is gone and you only have BoL left, you heal and he hits you harder then you heal... this repeats till you die.

It might work because templars certainly need viable mobility but its just that. A viable templar build; not necessarily a great sneaky sneaky archer build.

Plus templar in itself really has no good stamina long range utility to add to your bow repertoire.... Not even very many great magic long range abilities.

Still i admire your creativity. If you come up with a good build reply to me id love to see it.

NB all the way with this. My NB is an Archer, and I get long range hits that really do damage. And I never use the cloaking skills.I dont even have to be in their reach to kill them. It's the active skills, plus those great passives that work so well for an Archer.

I found it works ok but you need to finish what you start.

My main is a bowplar. He certainly does a lot of damage. Just remember you need to have an aedric spear ability on the bar to get the crit dmg buff. Piercing javelin or blazing spear are both pretty useful on a bow bar. A lot of fun in a small organized group, as Templar can provide support.

I've found that when good players are confronted by a group though, they will target both archers and healers. This is definitely the case as they will see you with a bow and maybe even catch a glimpse of you casting a class ability (which may lead them to believe you are a healer). I get targeted much more on this character than any other.

EDIT need to add that once thieves guild goes live, Power of Light is going to be a great addition to a Stamplar. Even on live right now it can hit near as hard as Snipe, and storing the damage is quite easy with a bow.
