Damage shield idea Wrobel mentioned

I think it's excellent. Damage shields that have a long duration like hardened ward, and harness magicka should have a longer cast time; whereas damage shields that last only 6 seconds such as Sun Shield, Bone Shield (lawz), and Healing Ward should remain as an instant cast. As a side note, I still think the potential damage shield Healing a ward has is a bit on the strong side.

There shouldn't be so many separate shields though. Should only be one really. all others are fluff and taking up an ability slot that could be something else.

I don't know if thats a fix tbh, but it depends on the cast time. I'm mostly thinking of Hardend Ward, a sorc can just streak away and cast it. But it really depends on what scenario we are talking.

Also I can't help but wonder if the cast can be interrupted.. Because if we can... Oh boy, SORCS BEWARE

I think he mentioned it because they are looking for ways how to eliminate alternatives to healing. And instashields are such alternative right now. This is also closely connected with the discussion about armor types and the problem that light armor is tankier than heavy because of shields. It's complicated, but it looks like they want to do something about it sooner or later.

I think a 1 second cast time would be appropriate. I think it being interruptable would be a bit harsh though. We can't interrupt heals, blocking or dodge rolling after all.

Well I'm happy to hear that they're working on it, because wearing all light should never make you more survivable than someone wearing all heavy. The same goes for medium armor btw, although it should be more tanky than light.

Stupidest solution ever. But hey I guess that would make my NB my main so I can collect free AP.

Yeah that is a pretty stupid suggestion. How about this? Since you mentioned Nightblades; we'll just do the same changes to Hardened ward as they did Cloak, and just completely disable it and prevent you from activating if you're near someone with mage light or if someone has marked you or hit you with revealiing flare. Have fun on the Nightblade! =]

Credit where credit is due, great idea. Or we are gonna end up with mag Sorc Cyrodiil 2016.

Even with a nerf here may still be the case.

The real issue is cheeseball FoTM reroll players, no upside to sticking with ur main long term.

Bhahaha. If it's anything like Healing Ritual cast time, even with the poor buff it's getting. Ur going to regret it big time!!! Sorcs. Trust!
Your going to feel, what the templars are feeling (basically like a turd)

    Now the waiting game........

Just eat my popcorn and wait for the show to begin muhahahaha.

"The nerf hammer towards sorcs is comical"

Lmfao. U got no ideas what ur talking about. Mag Sorc and stamblades were strongest and Sorc just it buffed.

Just have shields replace each other instead of stacking while also removing the shield breaker set. Or make the shield breaker set proc extra weapon damage against shield users. Ez fix Ez life.

Knee Jerk, L2P, Obtuse, Casual, Entitled, All The Best, unnecessary mention of CoD

Battle leveling for pve content defeats the idea of progression. Remove CP

It's like building an addition on to your house rather then cleaning out a room. They could just address the size of Hardened Ward. It's not used in PVE so why does it need battle spirit nerfed by 50%? Just drop the size of the shield by 50% and remove the battle spirit nerf so Templars and DKs can use their currently USELESS shields.

    Whats the down side?

The damage shield idea is a nice idea that isn't a massive nerf, but rather a tweak. I like the idea, it's not too harsh on shield stackers, but it's still something to avoid the over the top spam. That being said, I am seeing a LOT less shield stackers anyway, and it's onwhere near as much of a problem as it used to be.

I could care less. I rarely use cloak during a fight.

"I been playing sorc since beta magic sorc is a shell of what it used to be.

I forgotten more about magic sorc then you will probably ever know and your statements prove it.

The only things sorc got this patch coming is magic damage being combined with elemental in the champ system

Pets still suck as usual, we now have a new champ system dedicated to killing our only defense.

I'm sick of people parroting magic sorc got buffed this patch sorc really got no changes and the cs changes effect every class not just sorcs

sorcs actually took a nerf with the removal of double reflect(I was ok with this) but 99% of all sorc attacks are reflect able so good luck Overloading or hitting any DK or sword and shield user now it's just another in the long line of nerfs

Any more nerfs to sorcs and the class will be unplayable outside of stamina specs, there isn't much left to take"

I understand that no one can tell how everything will play out on live but I think this is way off. 0% likely hood Stam sorcs will outshine magicka.

The buff to sorcs was the buff to all magicka. Mag NB and Sorc were already strong (Sorc already stronger) but mag NB got a serious nerf to cloaK

You can interrupt healing ritual. I get how you didn't know that though, considering no one uses it.

    Lol this is true.
