Summary of Wrobel's Comments on Templars from ESO live

Huh... I don't know yet how I feel about this... I wait till after TG comes out to make the final determination. While I wouldn't call this a rage quit, I'm sorely tempted to quit this game if the nerfs keep coming. There are plenty of other games out there to consume my idle time. No... You can't haz my stuffs.

Still... With that said, I use healing springs as my goto healz anyway. As long as they don't nerf that, I might be ok with it. (Did I just jinx it?)

Whoever is the class design leader or makes the choices to keep our skills bug and lack luster options needs to be fired.

    Man...

All these decisions are really making me scared for the future of the game... It's good to mix things up every once-in-a-while and add elements from other classes (as long as they all maintain their unique flair).

However, making changes without first having balance, and not considering the ramifications for the future is a recipe for a lot of unhappy people...

    very truth here man........

Black Desert on march 3rd people... if you like eso i really see no reason why you wouldn't like BDO..

+1 on the edge of quiting so many other games I could happily be spending my time that won't constantly be bring interfered with

Oh, and he might decide to nerf the Templar's Sun Shield to make it have a cast time!

    The hits just keep coming.

Lol there's no way that idea was mentioned.

it was about shields in general. not explicit the sun shields but they would be affected by that change aswell.

They didn't even addressed the disparity of the Templar passives compared to other classes.

Don't blame the devs, blame the people who want to heal a dungeon with their other classes using Healing Springs

why shouldn't i? there are ppls that want to tank with a bow, but the combat system team should just say no. They are driving the car not the whiners.

Proof that he can lie to your face without hesitation.

Or that he genuinely thinks that templars are fine.

I don't know which is more worrisome.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Fire that guy, and get someone else who has fresh and new ideas.

It always amazes me that a company pays people to give feedback, and to test things for them. Yet, many gaming companies get feedback for free, and don't use it.

OP you have a serious comprehension issue. He said they nerfed breath of life because it was the "one stop shop" for all healing on templar. They nerfed it because it was the only healing skill Templar needed for every situation and to make other skills more desirable. Next time don't post garbage.

I seriously could care less about BoL nerf what i do care about a lot its the negligence about our Ultimates and passives being sub-par to all the other 3 classes.

When this happens, you buff the undesirable skills, you don't nerf the only desirable one.

    That's the whole point.

So, let me see if I understand you right. Templar healing has been reduced to be on par with every other class, but escapability, DPS, burst and sustain have not been increased to to be on par with the other classes?
THIS + the 5-10 fanboys in the forums, who keep posting pvp-videos/wise texts and other evidence that the templar is the strongest, or as good as the strongest class of ESO! (/edit they have been doing it over 1,5 years, now, nurf over nurf.., they say: "Templar's strongness is still there!!", reminds me Monty Pyton.. a knight without arms and legs, who is still trying to fight back!)

He did mention about mobility though, he doesn't want templars to be that type of class and want's them to stand their ground in their robes and be rekt by meteors. No mobility = death.

He has his vision, problem is, this type of gameplay doesn't fit current state of combat at all. Not sure if they can change it anytime soon either.

The worst thing about this big class rebalancing is that no thought whatsover went into the Templar design.

+ 1% for one skill, a little less cast time and healing for the other, a bit more damage for a niche damage skill, removal of the next to useless reflect from one Bubble morph. And a few "fixes" that wreck skills that were previously useful (Purifying Ritual, Channeled Focus).

Did any of that make Templars more balanced compared to other classes?

You are right. Point was OP is full of ***. In this specific situation, the buffing other templar healing skills to be better than BOL or comparable in different situations would've been ridiculous. Really had to be done.

What? What were they thinking to reduce the healing of templars? Then what will the templar be good for? Sparkling around like Edward Cullen???
