Is FaceFX still in the works for the game?

Kinda hoping this can be addressed in the next ESO Live, but I don't know what happened to the original concept of FaceFX nor if it will ever fully be implemented into the game. While I do know it has definitely been implemented in its first phase, I was under the impression there was going to be another phase of it eventually rolled out to be more akin to what we see in the video below.

Don't get me wrong here, I like the progress from when the game originally was like back in beta, but after seeing its original reveal, I still can't help but yearn for more out of how animations look during those NPC character dialogs, like how it was initially intended to work.

As someone who is invested in story, PvE gameplay, and questing, I just think an addition like this would do wonders for the immersice quality of the game. I'm curious to see what others think as well.

Here's the original video, by the way, if you need a refresher:

I just wish they would have animated the Khajiit ears...

What do you mean? They implemented that in 2014. I don't think the lip syncing is as good as I hoped but it was sure an improvement. See patch notes.

I thought they had that for PC? I'm on a mac, which lost all facial animations a while back, but I just logged into the PTS (on a mac), and it looks good there!

Well, if you look at the video, there are still far more animations than present in the game, both in facial structure and in the way the characters move their bodies and react. Eyebrows get skewed, the inflection and tone in a character's voice changed the emotion shown on their face, and it all just looked visceral.

I'm not sure if this is just something wrong on my end, but that's not in the game for me atm. Right now, the mouth animations were the only noticeable change so far.

^ Notice how it said basic? I'm wondering, with the implementation of FaceFX on the Mac in TG, if ZOS will work on the more intermediate or advanced iterations of FaceFX eventually. That is what I meant in my OP.

I don't recall having seen anything but the implementation for MAC is coming with the 64 bit client. Perhaps that might have something to do with it.

Hmm...you do raise a very good point there. It is certainly possible progress with FaceFX might've even been halted due to DirectX9's limitations. Who could say, really?

I do think them upgrading to DX11 will be able to bring about a number of great boosts to the game's overall performance and graphical capabilities as a whole. I'm certainly looking forward to that from the Thieves Guild and onwards!
