Prevention of Freedom?

It really annoys me how we are blocked from climbing mountains and volcanoes by invisible walls. They're not even subtle, you do some crazy jumps up some rocks and make it to a flat area then you cannot move any further. I mean I partially understand if they break out the map, but when they're in the middle of a zone?]

I don't understand the reasoning other than to limit freedom, as why stop people from getting to the top? It would be awesome to get a great view of a zone but nope.

At least try to hide the invisible walls in high rocks we can't jump, but falt open rocks or areas that we should clearly be able to walk across, cmon.

Thoughts?

It would take a lot of time to do this, rather than spend their time elsewhere. Its just one of those things, this game isnt really a big mountain climbing game although your horse still does a kick ass job as a mountain goat

Personally I prefer an sheer cliff face as "you can't go there" to any invisiwalls. But eh, not like its more then a minor vexation... although, I keep hoping that maybe someday they might reuse areas invisiwalled off for something... plop down a shrine or whatever... I know, I know, not too likely, but one can dream, right?

It's only mockery if it's absurd.
Those are exactly the things you'd hear if the world were truly open and gravity decided things.

I wish the world was more open. Like the mountain range between Eastmarch and the Rift, instead of putting an inisible wall, they could put a world barrier than transition you between zones, same with swimming from Auridon to Greenshade etc.

Stuff that makes the game world more open and free it great from my view as it makes the world more believable as an actual world.

I don't see why they bothered with invisible walls at all, as I have spent some time and can get out the map all over the place, there is a nice place in Mal abal Tor that leads to an in development zone where the DB is gonna be.

    It's not a valid problem.

Editing to avoid bumping this stupid thread:

It appears to only be valid to you. Like you said ... Most problems are "valid" ... this is not one of them.

If you wish to discuss a really valid problem, lets discuss you not posting stupid threads anymore. This is a valid problem.

Most problems presented are valid problems, perhaps not to all types of players but they are valid.

When the talk of enhanced facial animations many people said how it wasn't an issue but it was still a desired thing for some people.

I agree this is one of the more dissapointing thing about ESO. Not much to Explore and not much freedoom the world just feels dull sometimes :/ when i heard about eso i hoped it would have that awesome elder scrolls open world with alot of stuff happening in it and go whereever you want etc.

I still like eso for what it is but I hoped it would be different.

I would love to see this changed but I realise it's unlikely at this point due to the amount of time and effort it would take.

I was really disappointed the first time I realised that large chunks within maps are actually inaccessible, making the maps smaller than they appear and cutting down on the space I can explore (which is one of my favourite things to do in games).

I suspect ZOS thought they were doing a decent job of hiding the invisible walls - you almost never come across them on flat ground or simple jumps and it's fairly obvious the jumping mechanic in this game was not designed with any kind of precision landings in mind so they probably assumed that the invisible walls would be inaccessible even when they're on a flat area, because you have to climb up a (usually fairly steep) cliff first.

It's just that some of us like to explore and see a steep cliff as a challenge rather than an impassable barrier, and it's always disheartening to overcome the visible one just to hit an unexpected and literally impassable one at the top.
