Ping from Australia

I used to get around 200 - 250 ping since i play in Australia, it's to be expected but about a month ago i took a break and came back and tried to start playing about 1 week ago. Since coming back i sit on 400+ ping no matter what time of day or what zone i am in.

I tried contacting support but they couldn't help since i don't think they really understood what i was trying to say. I assume it must be server sided somehow since i have a friend who lives 10 minutes away having 400+ ping always as well after only having about 250 up until we tried playing within the last week.

I decided to try something i didn't expect to work, but did to get my ping in the normal range of what i usually got, and that was to use a proxy. Without the proxy, i get 400+ ping no matter what. With the proxy connected to a server in the United States, i get 200-250 ping. It's not just showing a false number either, with the proxy on i can definitely tell everything i do is going off faster. Now it's strange that my connection directly to the server gives 400+ ping, but my connection going through a proxy, then to the server gets what my old average ping was. So what's the issue here? I'd rather not have to use a proxy to play ESO. Is there any other Australians with the same issue? Or anyone from any country other than the US having this problem? Hopefully someone can figure this out so i won't have to use a proxy anymore! :)

    You might google "Battle Ping."

Had a Aussie friend that swore by it, and he did just fine in high intensity situations.

    Hope that helps.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

Yea same. Ended up giving up the game due to the ever increasing ping. Played for a long time with WTfast but even that ended up slowing down as well.
I gritted my teeth for quite some time but it was really noticeable in the single stage trial in craglorn(forget the name now..) and ended up giving the game up.
I really want to sink my teeth back into this game but it breaks my heart each time coming back with the terrible delay.
Black Desert plays still way under 190ping. All other MMO's have a better connection now. The game I want/ed to play the most just kept getting worse. I'm lucky to see below 300 with ESO now. Usually sits in the 400's.
I remember I was able to play at 247 ping for the first year or so and improved that to 234 with WTfast. If I ever sub with WTfast again with any other MMO I'll log back in and see.

This is still a popular game and one of the best around. Really hope one day I'll see they'll give some lovin' down under. Spend some of their successfully hard earned money and help us out. Would love to check out Morrowind.

I'm using BattlePing to connect from South Africa to the EU Megaserver, it has helped but even so my average ping is at least 60 - 100ms slower than pre-Morrowind patch.

    Listed ping in BattlePing: 190ms
Ping within ESO: 230 - 260 best case, usually 300-400ms

Granted I used BattlePing when I played GW2 for a stable 190ms ping but it grates to have to pay to get pings in the 300 range. I have fibre coming online soon, if the latency doesn't change I'm cutting my sub costs to both ESO and BattlePing and will look for something else to play.

From Asia to EU PC server.

    350 ms-600ms on average

Used to be 100ms less before the connexion issues start to appear on the forum (1 month ago?)
