I used to get around 200 - 250 ping since i play in Australia, it's to be expected but about a month ago i took a break and came back and tried to start playing about 1 week ago. Since coming back i sit on 400+ ping no matter what time of day or what zone i am in.
I tried contacting support but they couldn't help since i don't think they really understood what i was trying to say. I assume it must be server sided somehow since i have a friend who lives 10 minutes away having 400+ ping always as well after only having about 250 up until we tried playing within the last week.
I decided to try something i didn't expect to work, but did to get my ping in the normal range of what i usually got, and that was to use a proxy. Without the proxy, i get 400+ ping no matter what. With the proxy connected to a server in the United States, i get 200-250 ping. It's not just showing a false number either, with the proxy on i can definitely tell everything i do is going off faster. Now it's strange that my connection directly to the server gives 400+ ping, but my connection going through a proxy, then to the server gets what my old average ping was. So what's the issue here? I'd rather not have to use a proxy to play ESO. Is there any other Australians with the same issue? Or anyone from any country other than the US having this problem? Hopefully someone can figure this out so i won't have to use a proxy anymore!
